Never posted in this section but looks like I might look at it more often as it seems to be interesting having a little read. The geek zone makes it sound gay though Laughing

Basically my problem is this:

My headphones are being really shit. They are, I think its called, assymetrical the ones that run around your neck. Where they join if I squeeze, pull, twist, push etc, the right headphone might work. But basically the left constantly works whereas the right is intermittent. Very annoying and a pain in the arse.

It may be just a crushed wire or something. But I wondered if I opened it up, what would I look for, what would I do and is it possible to fix it? I mean the headphones were only £25 a year or so back but I havent got the money atm and of I am gonna make it worse then I would rather leave it.

Any advice would be mucho appreciato! Thumbs Up

It might be just a broken wire at the weld within the headphone due to it being tugged to hard at some time, but if it's a break some where along the wire then you'll probably better getting yourself a new decent set of headphones.

Superfi for all your electronic gizmos!

Hmm.

I used to have a pair of Sennheiser CX380's which were good but were £40. These are sony something or others and have been good. They were a new model when I bought them. I had to wait for like 2 weeks for them to come out.

Well Ill have to see what happens when I get this fucking bike fixed...

I have a pair of Klipsh custom headphones, but I am notorious for losing them so also have a couple of pairs of these JVC cheapies, which I don't mind losing so much!

Your headphones realised you were going to post in here and turned pre-emptively gay.

Throw them away, buy another set and never post in here again.

Are you bothered about the style of headphones that you want?

I've had a pair of Sennheiser HD477's since about 2004 and they are still working as good as the day that I bought them. They have excellent sound and are pretty comfortable.

There is a pair on ebay, ex display, going at £34.99 - https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Sennheiser-HD477-Headphones-ex-display-/130481208328?pt=UK_AudioVisualElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_Headphones&hash=item1e61493c08#ht_1065wt_1140

Style does bother me unfortunately. I use them on papers but when i get my bike back, im gonna start applying for jobs again. I do use them at home and when i go ont he bus/train whatever. If I was to buy a pair like that it would be the skullcandy hesh ones.

I prefer the ear canal sort of ones. Ill try and fine a pic of mine.
