Just an early heads up, and an opportunity to get the digs about wanky cheapo gear in.

7th March, the usual stuff: jackets, trousers, fagboy cruiser boots (I'm wearing mine now), touring boots, gloves, rain suits, base layers, bike covers, tank backs, rucksacks, chains, helmets. Not the best gear, not even cheaper than online prices, but I bet you'll all go and have a fiddle anyway. Razz

I bought a tank bag from Lidl last year. It's taken a fair bit of abuse and is still going strong. Thumbs Up

It was on "paper". That's a bit like a portable website that doesn't require a screen or batteries to read it. The page turn animation is amazing!

It is on the leaflet I picked up in the shop yesterday.

I WILL be going. Mrs and I need boots, oversuit for sure and will certainly try on a helmet. I have never tried a flip front helmet before. I can see the advantages (I wear specs) but also recognise that they must be less secure than a full face job. Must be better for the Mrs because currently she has an open face helmet. A LOT will depend on the type of chin strap fastening. I dislike the double D-ring type.

I got the tank bag, and couldn't fault it. Magnets were fine when used in conjunction with a thin non slip mat that cost me 49p (also stops the tank getting scratched). No zips have broken on it.

I'm sure I paid £25 for it last year. Maybe I dreamt that.

I do think I'd buy this over the Lidl tank bag though:

Clicky

More capacity and it'd be easier to fit the base in the bag when you want to use it as a rucksack.

I have been on MCN Ninja's and those guys must be rich compared to us.

They talk about new bikes, and half of them haven't started their bikes since Sept, and half own track bikes.

Here, we get happy when Lidl does their sale. Very Happy

I may buy the rain suit, bloody had a lot of trouble last week end with my Ghost bike trousers from ebay!

A 3 year guarantee on the bike cover - have I read that right from the advert ? If that's the case it must be worth a try for nine quid.

Anyone ever give the gloves a bash? I'm long overdue some new ones so wondering if they are worth a punt?
