Hi guys.

I have reinstlled windows on my sister's old laptop and I have upgraded the ram.

The issues I am having is that there is no drivers CD and it seems that the sound and wireless are no longer working.

speccy doesn't detect anything under the "sound" category. The motherboard is a Toshiba satellite pro L20.

How can I find out what drivers I need?

Thank you for your help.

-David.

There is four versions of that model L20 ;

103

164

189

195

https://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/supportMyProduct.do?service=UK

The above link will transfer you where you'll be able to choose from the complete list of Toshibas made. Also, it will allow you to autodetect the laptop or you can input the serial no.

Thanks for the help guys.

I have managed to get working sound drivers but unfortunately I haven't got the wireless internet working yet. It works no problem with an ethernet cable though.

My sisters laptop isn't one of the listed models. I have installed the sound drivers from another model and they seem to work. No luck with the wireless though.

I will keep trying.

Considering you didn't think 'I'll go on the manufacturers website and get the drivers' or 'I'll use the auto detect feature on the Toshiba drivers site to get the drivers' why the fúck are you doing an install?

Thanks for the help Scotsman! Thumbs Up

The auto detect doesn't work for this laptop. My guess is it's likely the autodetect only works for the exact models listed on the site. I also need display drivers but having tried the two available drivers available on the toshiba site, both do not work.

The model is:

Toshiba Satellite PRO L20

Model No: PSL2YE - 00R007EN

I need display drivers and drivers so I can get the wireless to work. I have not had any luck apart from getting the sound working using the drivers available for the other similar models off of the Toshiba site.

That would be this page clicky

Or display driver ATIwhich will start a download. Or Intel again will start a download.

Wireless again a download.

All on the Toshiba support pages.

00R007EN

EN = English

the number before it probably denote the customised configuration of possibly some extra memory, a better than standard processor, motherboard chipset and graphics chip upon when it was ordered.

Yes, go ahead and use the above mentioned link in Sickpup's post!

Also, here's a link to laptops direct which sells that exact model

https://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/Satellite_Pro_L20_PSL2YE-00R007EN/version.asp

breakdown of parts listed in laptop for all the PSL2YE

https://www.ciao.co.uk/Productinformation/Toshiba_Satellite_Pro_L20__6479956

wireless chip

search on the following link to find latest driver known driver for Wireless 2200BG

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng

REMEMBER to install the appropriate motherboard chipset driver for windows to detect all your hardware correctly and then load any missing driver.
