I had to tax my little scoot before she went off into the hands of a 16 year old ped boi. I couldn't be arsed to go down the Post Office so I thought I'll do it online to save time. Went through the whole process only to be told at the end that there was a system error and the process would not be completed. An email was sent to confirm the above.

In the meantime i've been down to my local friendly post office to sort the tax out.

So today i'm looking through my bank statement and on the 22nd February the DVLA have removed £15 from my bank account for guess what.......vehicle tax. £15 may not sound like much but it was one of those skinty months and I could have done with it. I've sent a 'polite' email to DVLA requesting my money back as phoning them would cost more than the tax.

I wonder how many more people they have had this way who don't check their bank statements. Thumbs Down

Well at least the little monkeys have had the decency to reply with a 2 line email...............pity they didn't bother reading what I actually said instead of cutting and pasting their refund procedure for when you have a tax disk Evil or Very Mad

Seeing as they have now proved they are incapable of doing anything I will have to up the ante.

I guess i may as well go in at the top with a complaint Thumbs Up then a court order for the money they have stolen from me. Thumbs Down

Instead of phoning you could visit their nearest regional office for help, if they are close to you?

Low-life scum.

Damn, there's that word again. We're swimming in the stuff, courtesy of HMG.

Fine if neither time nor fuel (for most people) is not of much value to you.
