I've had my new Metzeler M5's on for about 400miles now, they are lovely, but I seem to have to keep an input into the bars mid corner, the bike seems to want to stand up at all times.

Any ideas why?

It could be just a tyre profile issue.

Tyre pressures were ok, I did balls the front suspension up the other day though, setting pre-load to standard i went all the way in and 5 turns out for some odd reason, should be all the way out and 5 turns in, oddly it felt less bumpy but wants to stand up

Bit of an update,, all tyre pressures are perfect, 36/42, suspension is set to standard.

Yet below 40mph the front wheel tries to straighten up, i have to keep a constant push against the inside bar to keep it leant over, if i let go and let it straighten up at slow speed the front will go into a tank slapper from side to side.

Anyone have any ideas?

Have they been fitted correctly ie, the rotation is in the right direction?

I have a problem like that as well on my bike, it keeps wanting to straighten up all the time at slow speeds.
I've never had the tank splapper problem?
I've got a Fazer FZ 6 2008 what do you run.

Could the brake be binding very slightly from the wheel being incorrectly refitted? I used to have this on the MZ where the front brake was only juuust touching, not noticeable but occasionally in corners it would grab slightly more and start to push against the leaning in corners. check/bleed the front brake and then clean and adjust just to eliminate it if nothing else
