I use an imac now so will have to go console for the graphics now but I prefer it to always "needing" to upgrade.

Seems they will be using a new buffer system for the consoles to stream the sound to the memory this should increase performance and allow more textures through with the Frostbite 2 engine.

Looks great cant wait to play it although Pc users will have a fuller experience with the 64 players and probable dedicated servers.

Absolutely not. The difference between the graphics on console BC2 and PC BC2 is huuuuuuuuuge (understandably)... look up some game play vids on YouTube and you will see what I mean.

No it wont be as good however I wouldnt worry about it too much, the engine is brand new so I will hazard a guess that to have all the bells and whistles on you will be looking at these specs.

Core 15 or 17
4Gb ram (Minimum)
Nvidia 400 series
Ati 5000 series

And dont forget a nice monitor, then you will want for the geek in you an ssd for the larger textures and maps (remember BF2 loading times?)

SSD not needed of course but you know how it is.

I think with the streaming they have put in to cope with the lack of ram in the consoles should give us console users a great experience. I have never been able to play Pc games on a TV and feel connected with it, I think its due to the screen resolution you need to get the highest settings out of a game. The higher the res the harder it is to see any text etc.

I think the type of multiplayer they are going for will be better on the PC no question, better support and more tactical audience. With the nature and shear scale of BF2 it didnt transfer well to the console again with the potential map sizes that are being talked about in BF3 and the fact that the console gamers are now used to instant unlocks with very little grinding and cut down menus it will be interesting to see how they over come this with a pad.

I am hoping it looks decent on mid range graphics hardware as I will probably buy it for both Pc/Mac console.

Im more excited about this than CODMW3
