I've been thinking about this for a while. By we I mean people who ride bikes. Let's look at this.

Arrow We dress up in leather, some say the tighter the better and wear good strong boots.
Arrow We talk about giving the light of our lives a good thrashing.
Arrow We make sure to put our pride and joy securely into locks and chains.
Arrow When we're not doing the bondage bit there's some who apply wax and rub vigorously.
Arrow If things aren't working then occasionally we have to get down and dirty and get all oily.
Arrow There are even those who make sure their beloved goes all tarty.

Now I'm told there are MPs who pay good money to experience something like that Wink

I'm sure there are other quirks that I've missed Shocked
Maybe this is why society looks at bikers a bit odd? Very Happy
Comments welcome.

I'm sure as hell odd.

Anyway - there is something very...sensual about leather (just not when its multicoloured and on a 43 year old banker named Derek). Razz

I bet that 43 year old banker called Derek often gets called a BaB quite a lot.

How has no-one mentioned the throbbing sensation between your legs, or riding a mechanical object? That's a tad sick, is it not? Confused

there are differant types of people

those who ride motorcycles and realise how cool they are

those who want to ride bike but, cant afford, wife wont let them
(these are the people that come and ask you about your bike)

and those who dont get motorcycles or the ones who are not enlightened

i am glad to be enlightened to the ways of the bike

What is normal?
What is average?

As far as normal or average goes for this country, I'm quite happy to be far from that thank you Smile.

I was at a rally once, really stoned, and looked around at the people in the vicinity. In one of those moments of extreme clarity you get, I saw the fattest, hairiest, ugliest, weirdest, crippledest, DRUNKEST, strange-teethest, tarty-est, hairiest (did I say that already?), there were most peculiar people everywhere I looked (but they were all laughing).

I said to my daughter (who had been brought up in a very different environment) "What a bunch of weirdos this lot are, look at 'em."

When she looked around, she replied, "They look perfectly normal to me."

*proud mother moment*
