Dunno if anyone else has this problem, but it's just started happening to me for the last week or so.

When I do a search on google (or similar), it will do the search fine, but about 50% of the time when I click on a link it will redirect me to either a porn site or some kind of advert relating to my search. I've had this problem before and a quick virus scan, mal-ware and ad-ware scan sorted the problem out.

I have done all the scans, downloaded a different virus checker, and scanned the computer several times and the first scan revealed a couple of trojans. I have removed them, and rescanned with everything and thought the computer was all clean, tried searching for car parts and was redirected to a porn site... again.

When I click the back button and try clicking the link again it works normally.

I've tried deleting all the temp files, restoring all the defaults on firefox, scanning the computer several times and not finding anything out of place.

The problem is that I have kids using this computer (well they were until this started).

Any help would be appreciated.

You have a rootkit.

Download TDSSkiller and run it to get rid.

Have you checked the startup list in msconfig and the run key in the registry also?

Are you running the scans in safe mode?

Sounds like you've been hijacked

Tools you need are:
Malwarebytes
Hijack This

Run both in safe mode

I've removed a couple of suspicious things from the start-up and so far there hasn't been any redirections.

Thanks for the help Smile

I had that once.

Super antispyware was the one that got rid of it. Tried malwarebytes and the others people swear by but that didn't get it at the time.
