Sony suck, LG rock. Like-for-like on 42" LCD TVs, my LG has played every downloaded movie I've thrown at it bar two (out of at least sixty), Pablo's Bravia will play none because it doesn't have the codecs/format support. Tee hee.

Tvs that may be the case, but my ps3 plays all my films from USB or from my pc over my network and literally any film on a disc, be it avi divx, DVD or blu ray.

My xbox 360 was toilet at playing divx.

IMO a ps3 is a good buy even if you don't play games, mine hasn't missed a beat in 4 years, reliable machine so far, I use it a lot.

Waiting for a PS3 media center for jailbroken units then I will use it again.

Bought Killzone 3, then read how short it was, didn't open it, rented it from blockbuster and completed the fecking thing in 5 hours.

fuck paying £40 for games that don't deliver anymore.

I even played Fable 2 and 3 and blasted through them.

yeah games like oblivion you could probably blast through in 15 hours, but I still haven't completed it yet and I've racked up 60 hours on that bad boy.

Chris, I wouldnt blast through it but really what in fable is worth doing that actually adds to the end game? Getting married does feck all for you and was a bit sad really for a 30 year old man to "courting" with some old boot on the screen.

To be fair on Fable they did do me a good 8hours so catn really complain but side quests are just that a sideline to drag something out with little or no reward.

Example, the quests in F3 where you have to sort the seasons out for the village (Rain, Ice, Sun Totems) whats the fucking point in that? Congrats you can now changes the seasons WTF?

Maybe if there was more addon content and I knew another adult that played it I may have done co-op. No probably not actually.

I think I used money once or twice in the game in 3. In F2 I collected shit loads of cash to be told that the blacksmith was having a sale and got to best weapons for half price anyway lol

Mario on the N64 kept me going for ages, and on the WII, games just seem longer by Nintendo.

Grid on the PS3 is good due to car unlocks but there is no story.

Metal Gear, well fuck me if I wanted to watch animation I would rewatch Akira again.

I like gaming, I love COD games I now accept they have given up on telling a good LONG story.

But 5 hours for £40? Nope

But I will buy the next COD and I will buy Crysis 2 and all the other shooties that publishers throw at me, I will finish them, enjoy them and then moan about them. Its what consumers do.

I have imagination, maybe its, I don't see the point if there was a human aspect that involved trading against other humans to build an empire with a currency system or doign something that directly affected my experience or the game world then I would do it but doing "things" that makes no difference seems pointless. Not sure what I would do for weeks can you tell me? I still have them.

I am not critisising the game genre my opinion is that for me unless its an evolving experience its not my thing.


@Ghostrider there is no point to playing games other than for entertainment thats a given.

Maybe its only me that feels that games have got shorter and shorter (story wise) than they once were.
