Doesnt sound like everything is fine. Check for bent forks or any trapped cables that are restricting movement.

Doesn't sound like a small accident and so what make & model of bike was it to determine if it's well built bike and not some cheap Chinese thing!

Also, inspect handlebars are not bent as that may give you the feeling that you're leaning to one side, but I hope you havent as mentioned earlier that you may have bent forks or even possibly the frame itself and do check for trapped cable(s) that maybe restricting the steering of it in some way!

Doesn't sound 'fine', does it?
Steering could be any of many things.
If its 'tight' rather than heavy, then possibly suggests that the fork jokes are nipping the head race bearing, or the head stocks been twisted, nipping the bearing.
Possible that impcat has twisted the forks in teh jokes, also that the jokes have been pulled 'skew' on teh forks by impact, or by bend in fork stancion. Forks may be bent. Wheel spindle may be bent.....
all told, there is SOMETHING damaged in there......
So yes, we know what COULD be wrong.... anything from a loose nut to a bend or damaged frame....
How do you fix it?
Thats a different question, and it starts by getting in and inspecting all the bits mentioned to find out what isn't as it should be....
We cant do this by telepathy, for you, though I'm afraid...
You need to go mess with metal.....
Take pics, post'em we might be able to give more clues, BUT your best source of info will be the trusty Work shop manual for your bike....... you do have one dont you?
