I have an old friend when i say old i mean he is old and he uses his computer to browse the web mostly.

He is constantly getting spyware that takes over his browser i have removed rootkits and then a month later there will be something else and so on.

I installed spybot, avg etc, however it still happens, is there anyway to actually prevent this instead of having to remove it all the time.

Put the paid for version of malwarebytes on it so its running realtime and updating itself.

Its less than £20 and is a one-off payment.

I would love to but he is used to his programs etc, thanks it did cross my mind to do it. Spyware is just more of a pain in the ass.

I'll second that because Malwarebytes is the basically the best program around that is brilliant at what it does in combating threats to your system!

Activating the full version unlocks realtime protection, scheduled scanning, and scheduled updating. For consumers and personal use, it is a one time fee of $24.95.
