my mito seems to be running really bad i keep getting people saying hey that sounds healthy


wen i rev it up it kind of sounds like wen you rev the f**k out of a cold 50 rev and go like its stuttering a bit its hard to explain but it sounds like that all the time

i heard that you have to get a engine rebuild after so meany miles but i don't know how meany its done twenty one thousand

Choke left on / stuck on? Spark plug old and knackered (been starting it up and having a play on a regular basis while waiting for your birthday?).

If I were you I would opt for a rebuild with that many miles on the clock, but thats not to say there is something else wrong the the bike.

To find out if its the engine get a compression test done. Don't ask me how to do that, haven't a clue, but I'm sure someone on here will know. I just handed mine over to my mechanic.

Which type of oil do you use? Fully synthetic is best.

Do you warm the engine for a while before thrashing it on the road?

How often do you do an oil change?

I have had my honda NSR125 for almost 4 years and throughout that time I have had it rebuilt a couple of times. I have learnt to do the above things to decrease the wear of the engine. I have 35000km on my clock so in my book a look at your piston wouldn't hurt.

When you remove the exhaust restrictor you are meant to up jet the carb and fit a slightly bigger air box trumpet. https://www.mitomondo.co.uk/ will help you out.

ok its just had new spark plug and a new surpressor cap so i dont think it could be that and i use agip oil for thwe gear and the engine


and the few weeks i had it b-4 my birthday i did start it up everyday

My old ped started misfiring at high revs on full throttle (sounding like its stuttering), and genrally lacking power a while back. Tried loads of things to cure it, but eventually decoking the exhaust port and exhaust sorted it and transformed it back into the 35mph beast it was meant to be .

Could be possible at 21K, may be worth looking into if it doesn't seem to be anything else.

one more thing, what do you get in an engine rebuild what parts are rebuilt, how much does it cost for a full rebuild and what will it do to my bike??

i know the mito's are highly tuned so if i had a engine rebuild would the performance decrease ? because i heard they are hard to tune like if my carb needed tuning it would be very hard to do

i very much doubt whether that piston has done 21,000 miles. im sure it will have had an engine rebild in the past so i wouldnt start taking your engine apart unless you really know what you are doing.

ok bikes really fu**ed now

i could just be ridding down the street and the revs will shoot right up around the clock and nearly red line so i will pull over and the bike will just loose all revs and turn off and then it will take me agers to get it going again i checked the throtel cable and its not stuck could it be a blocked carb or something?

Hi

Either the carb slide is sticking (which would be slightly obvious as the throttle would have extra free play) or there is an air leak after the carb. Check the carb is mounted to the engine securely and that there are no deep cracks in the carb mounting rubber.

With no load it takes very little throttle (or air from an air leak) for the engine to rev the nuts off itself.
