hi, I bought a repairable salvage bike from a dealer that deals with these sorts of bikes a couple of months ago and have now fixed it all up. However I noticed on the invoice that it says I need to get a certificate or something to confirm that the bike is road worthy. Is this absolutely necessary?

The only thing that needed changing really were the locks and some new indicators. The rest of the damage was just cosmetic. I've been riding the bike around for a few weeks now and it's all fine. I've got insurance and road tax no problem so this certificate seems unecessary to me. However if it's law then I guess I need to do it. The bike is less than 3 years old so it doesn't need an MOT.

any advice appreciated

andy

If the bike has been written off it does need an MOT to prove it is road worthy however old it is.

If you live anywhere Ascot PM me and I can do an MOT on it for you.
