Spain Speed Limit Reduced from 120 to 110 kph

Just in case anyone plans a trip to sunny spain

Why why why. Surely if people want to save fuel can drive/ride slower, there's no need to reduce the speed limit.

Additionally, surely this means that the government will be collecting less in fuel duty so increase the country's defect.

UK must follow Spain down the road to lower speed limits.
Reducing the limit by 10mph would be a small inconvenience with great rewards, both economically and environmentally

And quite seriously, we're currently in a brief inter-glacial period in an ice age, and the glacial period is due, or overdue, to recur.

Warming ourselves right out of the ice age without going through another glacial period, is far, far, far better than the alternative. Warming will bring change, and both problems and opportunities. But going through a full blown glacial period would wipe out, what, 90% of humanity through starvation and war. And good luck rebuilding afterwards with most of the easily accessible oil already used.

We've got a brief opportunity to bootstrap ourselves to a fusion economy, get our eggs out of this fragile basket and take our rightful places as masters of this galaxy, so burn, baby burn! You're either with us, or you're with the bug eyed monsters from Proximi Centauri.

They have just reduced the speed limit to 110 klm in Spain yes, but thats only half the story the rest being they are reducing town or city speeds to 30 klm (18.6 mph) which will in fact increace fuel consumption as you will be riding round in 2nd or 3rd gear which will use more fuel.
The result being more fuel used, longer traveling times, lorries doing less deliveries on the tacho because of slower traffic.
I can see its been well thought out..
