Well just thought I'd do before and after photos really.
Spent around 5 hours out in the sunshine today and will probably do the same tomorrow to get it finished.

Before:

https://i658.photobucket.com/albums/uu301/chillyman0/2011-03-12112529.jpg

And this is how my aux power setup and autocom system looked before hand

During cleaning...

And how it looks at the end of today

https://i658.photobucket.com/albums/uu301/chillyman0/2011-03-12162424.jpg

Resprayed exhaust link along with centre stand and side stand

https://i658.photobucket.com/albums/uu301/chillyman0/2011-03-12162433.jpg

And all the power stuff neatly wired up and strapped in

So day 1 was all about the backside and day 2 will be all about whats up front Razz

Nice! I've not had time to work on mine due to other commitments sadly, should be able to get some done tomorrow though.

Although they're the same age and mine looked a bit cleaner than yours, it's actually got more corrosion in some places so it's that I'm going to tackle... It had been off the road for 2-3 years before I got it and despite looking shiny on the outside, it doubt it had ever had a proper clean or seen a bottle of polish until I got it.

And how many wheel weights are on the back?!

(You might want to blank out your numberplate too dude.)

Meh the number plate has been shown loads here and there so im not that fussed.

And yeah ballancing weights... tell me about it, took it back twice after they fitted the new tyre and the machine deffinately showed 0. However there does seem to be some juddering still at around 80 so im not convinced. They used a car wheel ballancing machine as they could use a peugeot jig to attatch my wheel so maybe its not as accurate or something...

I am actually surprised at how little (next to none) corrosion there is to the frame atc, the worst corrision i could find was the black paint on the ends of the radiator had peeled off and the metal underneath had oxidised so a quick clean with a wire brusy and a quick spray with VHT paint sorted that right out

Was a very soothing and relaxing day out in the sun, most enjoyable Mr. Green

Back in the holes they come from. Once you remove a panel or whatever just screw the bolts back in the holes a few turns so you dont loose them

Might want to move everything away from the drain of eternal depths.

Its just asking for trouble. Nuts and bolts and keys and EVERYTHING has a natural attraction to it.

Love threads like this.
You've done a good job so far!

I've been doing something similar with the YZF. Started out with intention of replacing the fork seals.
Ended up with all the plastics in the bathroom, soaking the dirt out in the bath. Laughing
All 4 wheels (SM and MX) were cleaned etc, autosol on the spokes.

Just as I was finishing off, my horn hasn't worked for a while, so decided to have a look at that.
The wiring was appalling up front, so in my rather stressed attempt of fixing it, I simply took a pair of side-cutters to it, and chopped the entire loom out, chucked it in the bin, and started fresh. Laughing

Joys of owning a MotoX bike that's been made road legal.

Great Job Thumbs Up

Never had the patience to do that to my VFR750 a few years back. Great result though, and well worth the annual effort.

Nice work.

If you have polar bears and penguins in your drains you should call the council. Or David Attenborough.

What a difference a weekend makes!

Rode to work this morning and everything felt glorious Smile no rattles, no judders, no noises what so ever and everything felt soooo smooth though all the crap and wd40 that made its way on to the brakes took a little longer to wear off than I thought. All is good now and the sun is shining! Mr. Green
