so it finally happened...

somebody tried to steal my motorbike. my bandit 1200 'streetfighter' stunt bitch thing. came out the house to the noise of shouts up the road then realised my beloved had disappeared from the drive with nought but a chain in its place.

legged it up the road screaming like a banshee with a rocket up its arse and flailing around like a wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man. the guys who attempted to nick it were pushing it up the road and just dropped it and ran off. cheeky bastards.

so anyway, got the bike back and saw they'd hammered the ignition barrel through for some reason then tried some gash hotwire attempt on it but not before they smashed up the instrument panel with their shite aiming at the ignition.

the icing on the cake? because of not being able to use the bike to get to work i decided to skateboard (longboard) it and on the way managed to crash on a mountain of a hill, sprain my shoulder, fuck up my knees, destroy my elbow and break my wrist!

good times!

anyway, got a new ignition but does anyone know where's best to source a new clockset?

it really does feel like shit after someone's tried stealing your bike and you dont know exactly what they did to it. it's like someone kidnapped the missus and molested her but she cant tell me what happened Sad

been looking at a few digital jobbies chimp, quite a few cheapish chinese ones on eGay, you reckon they'd do the job? got some of those knock off pazzo bars and they're pretty good so how do you think a chinese instrument panel would hold out?

some bint called the bacon brigade against me cause i was making too much fucking noise! but the cops did help push the bike back to mine. one even had a z750 haha.

Should be fine I'd imagine, the one I linked to I think a few people have used or know someone who has used it, and it fairs pretty well, although a tad more expensive than some of the other digital tacho's you can get..

That speedo you linked to (in my quote), Dunc on here has just fitted to his GPZ after it got stolen (link to his thread here, has pics too) and it does seem decent, looks good too.

And OP - That majorly sucks! still at least they were pushing it and not riding it, hence quick recovery!

Glad you got it back and you showed some balls chasing the crooks by yourself.

What about a metal shed. It'll protect the bike from the elements and out of the sight of crooks.

i've got a garage but we were having work done in it so the bikes had to be on the drive for ONE FECKING NIGHT and this happened haha.

reminds me, got a big torque wrench thats usually within reach of the door for the very reason you've described....

They stole that too, and somehow ended up getting hit with it after i took it off them and used it in self defence officer......

Glad you got the bike back (Hope you recognise them again sometime (once your skateboard injuries have healed!!!)
