Microsoft Access installation problems

Mornin' all.

So this lady at my work is trying to install Microsoft Access 2010.

During installation it pops up an error message saying that the required operating system is not installed, and that it needs to run on either Vista, XP, windows 7 etc.

Thing is she is running Vista Business edition, all I've tried so far is switching compatability mode to XP and running as administrator, but to no avail. I don't see why Vista business wouldn't work when surely it has the same backbone as Vista home edition or what have you.

Our IT department are fucking morons. No really, I'm amazed they dress themselves in the morning. I end up cleaning up most of the mess they leave behind in my department but I haven't got much time today to sit down and figure this one out, so they are not an option, and even if they were they would take several days to arrive - so......... any ideas people?
