Hurt.
No point in staying off work, no point in going to the Dr, I just hope it heals for Red Marley.

If it is broken and not bruised / fractured it is worth getting them x-rayed to make sure they are healing in the correct position and that there are no sharp bits of bone than could end up puncturing a lung.

then they will send you away and tell you there is nothing they can do!

Bloody sore, I broke two.

Never broken them (ribs), but i have dislocated them before - having it re-located was one of the most painful experiences of my life.

As it's weakened, i frequently subluxate it, did it again a couple of weeks ago - i now have a nice lump in the middle of my back and a constant nagging ache.

Marvellous.

Ouch.

Sympathies, one of the worst things you can break, pain-wise, in my experience.

Hope you feel better soon. Smile

They do. It's the little blue sparks that float past the eyes for the first few days when you breathe too deeply that intrigue me.

Sneezing wasn't fun.

+1 - got a chest infection because I "wasn't breathing properly".

Doctors! What do they know?

Ribs (plural). I fell up the stairs and landed on some unasembleled Ikea flatpack that I have been putting off doing. The Boss made me go to the Dr this morning so it is six weeks on painkillers. Driving is horrible, pot holes stink and as it is my left side changing gears and clutch both hurt.
I sent an all school email
"Would colleagues please refrain from hugging, poking or squeezing me for a few weeks please? I have just returned from the Dr and he confirms that my close encounter with gravity last night has left he with broken ribs."
Thanks for all the sympathy people.

I doubt they are gonna heal in time for Red Marley, but maybe you get extra man points for doing the hill climb with broken ribs.

Only thing is, when you come off, what if one of your broken ribs punctures a lung or something.

Ouch.

Doctor said six weeks to heal and the big hill is in five. I might gay up and wear some body armour.

I'll start up the Beast for you. Thumbs Up

You'll know closer to the time whether you've healed enough. It'd be a waste of time challenging the mighty pimple with a body not worthy of it.

I already have a mate on kickstart duty as my hip is not up to it, the rib fractures are just another problem to overcome. Will you be at RM Pat, I have a ride in the Thundersprint as well I dare say I will see you there

Ouch I feels your pain, I was out on the piss with some mates, was running to the cash point in the rain. My mate decided it was a "Race" and pushed me straight over, I slid through the rain into a pole breaking a few ribs. When you rub your hand down my rib cage you get to the point where a couple disappear and then they start again.

When i broke my 6th left rib i could barely breathe for a few weeks, then after that they wanted me to inhale with a special thing with a ball inside IIRC for as long as possible and i thought nah cba but when i was having showers and stuff it was extremely hard for me to breathe so got back on the weird toy thing, took me a further 3 weeks to get my lungs to work propperly.

A few years back I broke a whole section of my rig cage. Three ribs with 6 breaks, each broken out section was about 4-5 inches lon.

give it a few weeks and you will be fine unless someone punches them.
