 |
|
Riding yesterday I've noticed my boot melted to the exhaust , this brings me to two questions-
How do I stop my boot melting or coming into contact with the exhaust (heel sits next to this when foot is on the peg)?
How do I clear the melted rubber from my exhaust?
lastly-
I have a bit of arthritis in my thumb on my right hand (got half bitten off by my dog) anyways, whilst riding it kinda feels redundent and aches- what is the ideal position to have it in whilst riding? (think it needs something to concentrate on).
Thanks for any advice |

Hiya I'm a bit of a noob still so my advice wont be all that great..I just thought I'd bump your post up a bit.
I was told to rest my insteps on the pegs as that was the best position for my feet (I have smallish feet) so luckily have never had the trouble of melted rubber on exhaust.
As to your right thumb, I'm just recovering after badly spraining mine and find that it actually aches now when I use it as opposed to resting it. I use my right thumb to stabilise my hand when using the throttle and brake and when steering.... It could be where you are using it so much that it's making it ache and you just need to rest it every now and again.
Over to the experts..... ____________________ Current ride - 2005 Suzuki GSX-R600 K4 - 2x 2014 Honda NC750s long term courtesy bikes - 2003 Fazer FZ6 written off as idiot reversed into me - 2009 YBR125 - still have from new |

If you haven't managed to clear all the rubber off yet, try oven cleaner. Get the foamy spray type but spray it onto a sponge before slapping it on to avoid getting it everywhere (that stuff seriously expands!!!), leave it for an hour or so, don't let it dry out, then scoop the whole mess of with one of those teflon fish slice thingys (or anything else that won't scratch), good luck |

Hehe yeah I got it removed Most of it peeled off when I washed the bike lol I am more concious of this happening now so stay away from the exhaust but will look into a heel plate.
Think most of these problems were caused by being tense out on the road, had a great ride today out in the sun and feel so much more confident now. Another month and I'll look into more training for my test. |
