PC continous reboots

Just put new PSU in to handle with a decent gfx card.

Anyway, whenever I turn pc on, I log into windows and it reboots. Sometimes 20 seconds, sometimes 2 minutes. never more than 2. I checked device manager, no sign of the gfx card.

I un plugged the gfx card to rule out the psu and it works fine so it must be something to do with the power to the gfx card or the card itself.

Fans on it go full pelt as soon as I turn it on and they stay on till it reboots.

Windows 7 ultimate
Gainward geforce gtx260 896mb

Any help.

I'd suggest it's a power thing, i.e. your card is overworking the PSU. To save the card/PSU from damage the PC reboots.

I assume it does it from cold (which rules out airflow issues / the graphics card overheating). Looks like you've narrowed it down but you won't know for sure unless you can try another PSU with the graphics card. Have you calculated the power requirements properly?

Sorted. The new psu is 750w and that wasn't the issue.

The issue was the power connector to the mobo was messed up. Sorted that then updated the bios and it works fine now.
