Hi

Have stripped down my rear brake on the 01 sv650s as its in need of an overhaul.
I have managed to get new pads and new seals but the sliding pins and the actual caliper bolts (the ones holding the two halves together) are lets say best their best and im wondering if anyone knows a company who does refurbisment kits for brake calipers. Had a look on Pro-Bolt and they only list a front kit and its in titanuim so it cost alot more then i wanted to pay, £55 plus postage.

Any ideas please guys thanks

Thumbs Up

Try Wemoto:

They have loads of retaining clips listed so are bound to have the one you need.

Hi

Think those calipers are common to loads of Suzukis. The pad retaining pins are gits.

UK parts list with current prices:-

All the best

Keith

Also found this:

Don't tend to use them much as they are expensive, but they do have EVERYTHING and I mean everything lol.

You didn't look very far!

30 Seconds turned up this;
https://www.tastynuts.com/Products/Suzuki_SV650_S_0307

The front brake parts come as a "kit" and is at the top of the page. Scroll down to "Rear wheel & swingarm". Wink

Just something I thought about and did some quick research on;
Is titanium better than stainless, due to high corrosion resistance?
NO!

Titanium should not be coupled directly to less noble metals, such as magnesium, zinc, and aluminium. These are likely to experience accelerated corrosion and, in the process, titanium may pick up hydrogen which is generated as the cathodic product of the corrosion reaction.

Maybe I guess, although the weigh savings isn't really alot unless you change all the fasteners on the bike, and the costs far outweighs the weigh savings. Can't see any reason to use titanium on your brakes realistically.
