depends on the quality you want from the DVD and what quality the AVI is

if you have Nero DVD software it has a converter built in
otherwise there are a couple of free ones and shareware ones you can try
don't bother with most of the "Free Trial" offers as most restrict the length of the conversion to a couple of minutes
or add a watermark to your finished DVD

you should have Windows movie maker (assuming you have windows)
you can use that to do the job or download from here https://explore.live.com/windows-live-movie-maker?os=other

convertxtodvd is the best imo. So simple, can do menus and stuff. Always works.
