I would have loved to have been wearing those when I crashed. Nothing hugely wrong with them imo. Just don't offer the best protection available. I guess it's similar to pisspot lids etc.

I usually wear these which look pretty similar but with a little more insulation:

https://www.quintamoto.es/quintamoto/images/Imagenes%20subidas/ICE%20RIDGE%20D-DRY%20LADY%20(Dainese)rojo.png

Don't feel like they offer any less protection than the ridiculously elaborate and considerably less dexterous 'race' gloves that seem to dominate the market. They certainly don't look anywhere near as stupid on the road.

Nope. I wear no-brand gloves with hard protection on the knuckles and back of the fingers, and a double thickness of leather on the heel of the hand.

Having come off a pushbike at about 15mph and bashed the bejeesus out of my knuckles through some quite thick neoprone gloves, I don't fancy coming off a bike at 4 times that speed (= 16 times the kinetic energy) without some sort of hard impact protection on the bits that will be reaching for the ground.

You put OMFG to get people's reactions to gloves you then later admitt to owning... Rolling Eyes

They look shite.

Some dirty little scrote wearing tracksuit bottoms riding round town all night would wear them, thinking he was the dogs bollocks, and expecting some dirty underage teenage scutter to rip off her clothes and expose her infested cum riden minge.

I'd think he was a cock.

dude stfu, with your negative comments, I also asked in this thread what kinds of gloves you wear and peoples opinions about the different types of gloves, if you have nothing better to say than the bullshit above then please don't comment, cause I ain't interested about the kind of people that wear those gloves.

Nike gloves on a 50cc, is it really that day and age we live in... pedbois need nike gloves and reeboks to look good on a bike ped

No I would not wear those, nor ride a 50cc.

Ive always worn gloves with either knuckle protection or palm protection... usually both.

Back in my first bike "im the dogs bollocks" stage, I ripped about with no gloves on, had a stone chip up and bash my finger.. never again Laughing

I much prefer my hard knuckled ones, however, since I'm a wuss for the last 4 month's I've mostly been wearing my zoidberg gloves.

Fuck all impact protection, but at least I can still bend my fingers to use the brake

Currently wearing a pair of 1960s(ish) Tan leather gauntlets, many times cooler than those nike gloves!

I've two pairs, one for winter one for summer. Both leather and double layered on the palm. The winter ones have no hard armour but do have a good dose of reasonably hard foam and are Thinsulate lined. The summer gloves have hard carbon over the knuckles and slightly flexible kevlar/carbon armour on all finger joints and wrist.

They're all black in colour too (as is all my other bike clothing) 'cos I don't like leathers that look like someone did a technicolour yawn on them.

Likely you'll still hit with the same impact as a push bike - unless you are going in to a wall, in which case you have problems anyway!

It's all about the height you come down from.

The speed is where race gloves DO make a difference - as when you're sliding the thick/strong leather takes some time to wear through. And so, yes, this is where ped bois can get away with thin gloves more than people going faster.

Oh and yes; poor thread title!

Keep them coming folks - on the lookout for new summer gloves at the moment.

At the moment i am torn between the poser part of me wanting to splurge out on a pair of A* but the miser is leaning more towards another pair of RSTs-my last pair have done 3years so not to bad for £20 really. Liking the look of the Aliens, motopilots or vortex and the fact that they can be got for about £30.

A poser writes...

I didn't pay full price for the GP Pros, (about £99 just after Xmas from the 'net), but they are very good.

Tbh, though, they're probably well above what I needed.

They're jogging gloves dude, if you fall off and put your hands out (very likely) I bed there'd be nothing left of them. What about these? https://www.getgeared.co.uk/ALPINESTARS_Alloy_Motorcycle_Gloves?sc=16&category=144
they're low cut so you don't have to wear race gloves around town but should still give decent protection.
