It's the worst mobile network in the UK by a fair amount, I know a few people on 3 in the South where I live and it's quite a moment when they obtain some signal, let alone 3G.

Don't bother, Vodafone/O2 are much better, at a stretch Orange/T-Mobile.

I've actually just switched from Vodafone to 3, I'm not to sure yet if this is a good idea to change.
My Vodafone contract is still going and I have 14days to dump the 3 sim if I want.

Currently pay £17.95 for 600mins, 600texts, 500mb data. i always go over my data tho and its an extra £5 for another 500mb so its actually about 22.95pm

3 have given me a 1month rolling contract for £10 a month, 100mins, 3000texts, and 1gb of data. I don't use my phone much for calls or texting, more for data.

On a side note, if you go here: Mobile Coverage Check it shows you via. a Google Maps graphic where the networks coverage is and where it doesn't cover.

HTH. Thumbs Up.

I have the same "£10 a month, 100mins, 3000texts, and 1gb of data" package - have had it a year. I pay £2.50 extra for a much bigger data allowance. Nokia E63 came with the package. All works well

I never get anywhere near my allowance limits, maybe 30 calls and same number of texts in a busy month. However, I like the phone and the cost is OK.

What bugs me is the extra charge for a text/ call to outside UK ie USA. Calls made from overseas are just stupidly expensive. For those I carry an old / battered Nokia N80 which is unlocked. I either use that with PAYG Vodafone or (more usual) by a local SIM and get the shop to sort out with the local network that I can use the SIM for overseas calls. Has always worked in S. America, far East and Africa

Helpful to some extent, I live in an area of where it shows orange to have good signal yet for love nor money I my dad's phone will not pick up decent signal. But it did show how patchy 3 coverage was I think I will avoid. Thumbs Up

I get a very weak 3 signal at home (have to be nearish a window) and when I am at work I get a full signal. However, I have lost count of how many times the 3G is broken on my local mast so I am unable t do anything webby whilst at work, thus I have to work more. Evil or Very Mad

In short, avoid. As I will be going back to O2 when my contract is out.

I'm not on "3", but to be honest I only even hear bad things about it, whereas the other main players don't get any more bad press than the rest, suggesting that indeed the 3 network is the shitest around.

could be worth noting, t mobile, virgin, and orange all share each others signal now. I stick with vigin as i found orange, vodafone, and three to be bunch of twats, and virgins got a good mobile net thing going which i use a lot.

When I shopped around for pricing and tariffs for my current phone, 3 network seemed to beat everyone on their pricing/tariffs by a mile. Their "all you can eat" data package on the iPhone 4 was the only one of it's kind. I even rang up their customer services to see what the catch was and they said, "There isn't any catch, you can download as much as you want per month". I said, "So, if I connect the phone to a PC and use it as a router to download bluray films all day, every day, I won't get charged?". His reply was, "We actually encourage our customers to do this".

Anyway, a simple Google search reveals this: https://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews12640.html

1000 reviews with an average rating of 1.4 out of 5

Was on Three, changed to O2 end of last year, would take a lot to go back.

When I had a signal and it managed to sustain a 3G connection, it was very fast but I could only make/receive calls from two places in my house and when out-and-about it was erratic.

The map they have on their site is very generous, don't take it as read that you will get a signal just because it says you are covered.

On the plus side, their customer service was very good, no complaints there.

Have been with 3 for about 6 years now and can not complain at all. Really good coverage and reception. 3G almost all the time, even when in other cities. The only company I've ever heard bad things about is T-Mobile.
Everytime I hear someone say "I've heard Three are shite, would never go with them" they always admit they've never actually been with them.

Have heard bad things about Orange in the past as well. Best reviews are always Vodafone and O2 (just three seems to be favourable in Aberdeen).

I am on Virgin... Think they pig back on T mobile... I justt changed my contract to a rolling 30day for 6quid a month.. That gives me 200min and 3000 texts... I don't need a smart phone so it is a good deal atm...

T-mobie is good I think and I have never had a problem.
