Saw an ad on Gumtree and they wanted my ebay name to see my feedback.. I just got a email from them..

Quote

Hi,

Your feedback is satisfying! Well, like I said in the ad, I have some very popular items, and I thought that eBay would be the best place to sell them and earn some money. If everything will be okay we will continue with more products. If you are interested in this collaboration, for start, you will receive £100 for each item sold plus your ebay/paypal selling fees(if you have £12 selling fees, you will receive £112) but if everything goes well, I will give you a bigger share. I will handle the shipping and handling personally so after the auction ends you must send me the shipping address of the winning bidder and within few hours from that point on, I will provide you the tracking number for the item, so you can send it to the winning bidder. There is a 7-day return period after the winner receives the item. After you receive the positive feedback for the transaction, and you will be able to access the funds, you will take £100 + selling fees and send the remaining amount to my paypal account or any other payment method you prefer. If you agree with everything I explained to you here, notify me, and I will send you the items so you can post them (item description + pictures)!

Thanks.

I have for sale more items (laptops, bikes, etc.). You list 5-10 items per week.
But first I want to start with the bikes or laptops (or both), you choose.. You can start right now? Please let me know.

Thanksv

The scam is you will be the respectable face that the buyer pays. They buyer wont get their item or will demand their money back because its faulty, but you will have already passed the money on to the scammer.

Guessing they would be selling on stolen goods then, cba'ing to create an ebay account is hardly an excuse Razz

Thumbs Up

I don't think the intenet is for you.

OP puts items on Ebay but never actually has the items in his hands. He passes the money from the sales onto the other person and they don't send anything off.

How about this?

I go out and buy some crap bust laptop for £50. I get some greedy mug to sell it for me without actually seeing it. I use several mates accounts to bid on the the item until one finally 'wins' it at £500. They pay for it through paypal wait 3 days and leave 'arrived quickly' as feedback. Mug keeps his word and sends me £400. My mate immediately raises a complaint that the laptop is broken, never had a chance to try it until now. Mug panics and ignores so my mate raises it with paypal who tell him to send it back so he sends it to the seller recorded delivery. A couple of weeks later paypal refund his £500. Mug is £900 down without a leg to stand on.

If they were genuine they would set up there own ebay account. this would not look more like a con if it had the words "Warning, this is a con" as the subject line

...during International Obvious Scam Week, while singing Scamming Days Are Here Again.

You could tell them that you want to see one transaction complete cleanly and fully before committing. Then win it yourself with a shill account. Have it sent to yourself or a trusted chumrade. Best case you receive something working for free and tell the scammer to jog on and find another mug.

I was thinking this... I got a few eBay accounts... The only problem is the address where the item is sent..

Its a scam made to look like dropshipping, which is legal and can be a good way of making legit money.
