Well the Mrs finally decided that I had to do something with the little 94 NSR i've had parked in my garage since 2006..........

I bought her off ebay with the intention of reliving my youth but family, babies and work unfortunately brought me back to reality! She's a full power Italian import and I don't think she looks too bad for a 17 year old bike. She was one of the first 'fox eye' models to be produced.

I'm only really able to rebuild her to an on the road stage at the moment then maybe when I win the lottery I can do a nuts and bolts rebuild.

I have a variety of body work that has seen better days but the first challenge is getting her running. The last owner gave her a new piston back in 06 and the cylinder head nuts still look new. When I get some time this week i'll clean the carb, put some fresh motion lotion in and fit a new battery. Then we'll see what happens. She's got 2 EBC disks that should be fine once cleaned etc.

fantastic!
I have myself an 02 NSR, has needed a lot of work since I got it so I'v have a tinkery pokery around most of the bike Smile

My fairings have taken some repairing and will need some filling in a few places, sanding and re-spreying, biggest problem is what colour scheme etc Rolling Eyes

You may find the starter giving you jip, if this is the case a pair of brushes (less than a tenner) and 99% of the time, jobs a good'un.

let me know if you need a manual.

Best regards.

luckily I have downloaded a manual off the web so thats sorted Thumbs Up

Most of the fairings are in OK condition, the exeption being the 2 lower fairings which you would expect to get damaged if the bike was dropped. Had a quick look over it tonight and nothing is seized etc. I'll be replacing the fluids as soon as possible.

I've always loved the TZR,RS,Mito, NSR's of this world as they were the learner bikes to be seen on when I was growing up. Hopefully 13 years on i'll get to ride one Twisted Evil

Yes, I've been really busy with work in the last couple of weeks hence no update.

Progress in the last week.
1.Gearbox oil and coolant change
2.Bleed front and rear brakes
3.Clean carb and put some fresh fuel in

Hooked the NSR up to the Comet with jump leads and pressed the starter switch. Within around 10 seconds she was running like she'd never been stored, she was a bit smokey but nothing that a run won't sort out.

On my next days off I plan to decoke the exhaust and I have a pinch bolt to drill out as it snapped Evil or Very Mad Then hopefully I can T cut the bodywork, give it a good clean and get it down the MOT station.

The NSR lives again - The bike is now almost finished now apart from removing some crap stickers, painting the exhaust and giving it a damn good polish.

Then on to the MOT and putting it up for sale Sad It's defo the best colour scheme for the NSR Wink
