Bought an 8gb Iphone 3gs on the internet , few questions really as I spent alot of money on it, on the back it doesnt state what gb it is (I'm a perfectionist and know that on my itouch it does and google search shows all Ipods have gb on the back) also at the top next to the speaker there is 3 circular dots as if there bubbles (they aren't) just wondering if the current ones have that (infared, bluetooth could be any of them) thanks

My 8gb doesn't have a size printed on it. Don't know what you mean by the three dots though.

I think the 3 dots are light sensors and proximity sensors. They're not always visible but can be seen in the right light and right viewing angle.

It's all part of a trap... I post work safe links labelled as such and some people (might) click them, then I can post work safe links without labelling them and some people (might) click them.

Then, and only then will some people have let their guard down and so they'll click my links without thinking what they might be clicking. Wink

Is it purely that it's not written on there that's worrying you?

Because otherwise I'm sure you can look at phone options/ information and it will tell you the memory Very Happy

Thumbs Up

BCF, you disappoint me.

It's definitely a cheap Chinese knock off. I'm feeling magnanimous today so I'll give you a tenner for it before it rusts into an unusable heap.

Maybe it's a reconditioned phone?

I have repaired a few 3gs's now and the backing (the bit with the GB rating) you buy sometimes doesn't have 8/16/32GB written on it. It's so the backing can be used with any of the 3gs' sizes.

Also, with the after market screens you can see the 3 dots on the top left hand side much more clearly than the original. If you turn the phone side on and catch it with the light you can sometimes see what looks like a faint grid. Out of all the screens/digitizers I have replaced, all but 2 have this very faint grid.

As long as it works alright and connects to itunes how it should do I wouldn't worry about it and just use it. I'll be out of date in a few months anyway...

Not really, You can say that you purchased it on ebay, and feel that it may be fake. You need confirmation from them so that paypal will re-imburse you. I used to work there, and we got it more often than you think!
