Phone stopped ringing

Am sure its something very simple but I cant work it out. As of yesterday my phone (blackberry something) has stopped ringing and vibrating when receiving a call or text. Its not on silent and the profile settings haven't changed so I'm a bit confused. Any ideas?

Is the speaker working? ie can you play music?

If that does not work try soft/hard resetting your phone?

The speaker works although playing video/music seems to have stopped working. what is soft/hard resetting?

What model do you have?

Soft reset will reboot your phone

Hard reset will wipe your phone data back to factory settings

It is a 8520, its started to vibrate when i get a message after turning off and on again. I'm going to try taking the battery out and giving it some time to realise how unreasonable its being.

It works! Turns out there was some crap stuck under something so once that was removed everything went back to normal Very Happy .
I think I'll have to keep it away from all the crap at work from now on.
