Maybe he's just trying his luck, you could have nearly new for that price, mine is 3 years younger and I paid considerably less than that with extras.

Yes which he'll quickly deny and try to haggle it up to nearer 6k, which is still miles off it's actual value.

You always set it as more than you expect so when you're haggled down you get what you want for it.

But 6k is just ridiculous. He'll probably lose more interest from people thinking he's stubborn.

Fair enough if he sells it for 6k, but if you're foolish enough to spend 6k on it then you deserve to be ripped off.

Or more than likely this is the scenario

W: Honey, how are you getting on with selling that bike of yours?
H: No luck yet
W: Can't you drop the price to get rid of it?
H: If I do that, we will lose a considerable chunk of money, if I sell it any cheaper we may as well throw money away
W: But you don't use it that much and *we* *need* a new kitchen/bathroom
H: If I can get asking price for it we can do both *thinks to self, hehe, will never get asking price because I have priced it stupidly meaning I keep the bike, and she now thinks that we can have both done if I get asking price*

Makes sense to me, overpriced so he can't sell it even though wife wants it gone.

Then he needs to take his collar off.

This is because people are A grade idiots who, aside from being totally clueless, take their own perceptions as fact.

Pits, thats so far off the mark....

Its, They saw me coming and sold me this bike way over price and I'm just too scared to ride it as it too powerful for me. Laughing

So I'm hoping some other mug on ebay will pay a over inflated price for it.

There's always someone who will pay, more money than sense and all that.
A garage near me has been doing it for years with cars, he puts old £700 motors up for £2995 and shifts em.
(he's got a 53 plate Fiat there now, £3995)

Disbelief?

I'd knock off £100 if it didn't have an MOT for sure, the price of the MOT + the risk of any faults or advisories and just the hassle of getting it done/getting it back home as you can't ride it unless the MOT is pre-organised is worth over £100 if you ask me.

Yeah. If you offer £100 below the fairly high price, what happens if it costs £500 or £1000 to get its ticket?

I might offer you £100 for a vehicle with no MOT...

Suspect he paid £6k for it from a dealer, hardly used it and now expects to recoup that from a private sale.

Lack of MOT suggests he doesn't know what's he doing.
If it was a free advert somewhere I could accept it as a "I don't want to sell it, but hell if someone offers me £6k for it, then sure I will" Smile.

Feh, no MOT?

You'd have to knock a bit more than a hundred notes off to get me interested in a bike with no MOT. Be lucky to catch me paying over six hundred for a bike with no MOT, let alone 6 grand Rolling Eyes

People will moan about the mileage, without a proper look I would say 3.5-4k

Mine cost me £3,500 just over a year ago and thats a 05 plate with 9,000 on the clock with extra's. I doubt you'd fetch anything above £3,000.

i cant understand how it's classed as high mileage though, it's done less than 4000 miles a year since new, hardly exessive Laughing .

Its had a -1 front sprocket on since 20k miles though and the speedo is taken from the box so it's been adding miles at an accelerated rate so it's probably under 30k miles in real distance.

Looking on ebay, there's still 03 plates out there with less than 8k miles, what do these people do with there bikes, ornaments?

@Racer, I noticed the prices have shot up, that's why im considering selling and using the super four for a bit, then when prices come down buy another 600rr3 with less miles and start again Laughing

Can't you read? He's really "looked after it" - it's had a polish after all fives time he's been out on it. Rolling Eyes

Should be fun to point out that they're £8600 brand new, and ask him why his 7 year old garage-queen is still worth £6000 with no MOT and apparently no service history. (Doubtless his mate Baz done all the servicing, honest mate, you can ask him.)

Still, it is eBay, where auctions sometimes close higher than the buy-it-now price Exclamation He might have the last laugh. Very Happy
