whats it worth (CAR) as spares or repair

ok i got an astra 200 model 1.7DTI that i no longer have a use for. It had a problem with its head gasket so i had a new one put on and the head skimmed etc etc etc new battery but it still needs a bit of attention:

84k, 5 door blue, got some recipts for work done but not garage recipts as myself and a friend done it.

Few scratches, flat tyre, management light on, new oil filter/oil, previous owner put in a ton of steal seal that i havent fully flushed out. It seems to run ok but i think diesel is getting past some where?

Would be looking for a quick sale. Just woundering how much i should expect.

Yeah. Depends on your local scrappers, tbh. Some will still collect the scrap weight and give you something for it, others now charge to collect. Worth calling round before you decide, I imagine. Smile

I bought mine with 12 months MOT on and it still has about 5-6 months on it.

right. john 933 you would fetch about £150 scrap value if you took your car to the scrappy if not a bit more. no need to strip it althought most wont take with tyres or any liquids. i used to tow them in and remove wheels whilst there. you need v5.

richie. um diesel passing where? im not sure what this means.
as with steal seal that you havent flushed out?

as for the rest 2000 1.7 dti astra van 6 months tax and test needs slight attention 650 ono.

my problem is where would the diesel be coming from to get in your engine other than the injectors?
without looking at an exploded diagram of ur engine i would only be speculating.
bearing in mind you are going to smell diesel, its a diesel powered engine!!! that small amount of smoke could be it burning off the protective plate some cars have (recent gasket filter and oil change) and the chugging, your letting a small amout of pressure out when taking the filler cap of its designed to be seal when running you take the cap off where all of your cams and what not are moving there moving the air around them.
i would no worry to much as long as she doesent run ruff as assholes.

i am startin to believe marjays point on ur trying to generate intrest for sale as if your compotent enough to do a gasket change yourself you should know all of these things.

the engine managment light on vauxhauls are c*nts they come on for no reoson some times especially when works been carried out and just need simple reseting or a sensor is on the blink.
or as a mate did on his vectra after having it reset a few times took the bulb out, which as i previously stated depends on your morals Laughing

no thats fair enough. i personally would put it up for 700 ono expecting to get knocked down to mayby 500 being honest and stateing needs slight attention 6 months mot ect.
