China are getting their with their build quality.

The BSE factory and Stomp factory are working with the dealers and sponsors here in the UK, developing bikes all the time.
I know these are pit bikes, but the concept is the same for other Chinese bikes across the ranges.
Since I got into pit bikes nearly 3 years ago, up to today, the progression has been absolutely unreal.

Some of the bikes coming out now are superb!

This bike is the M2R race bike which will be ridden by Jake this year in the FAB racing championship. Other than cosmetic mods, this bike is practically the same as their "off the shelf" customer bike. And it's a proven race winner.

Binge, when the Chinese get there with consumer street bikes, that have a decent longevity, build quality, reliability and spares back-up, let me know.

I'd guess that when that happens the price will be very little different than the current major manufacturers. Quality costs, whether that's in materials or manufacturing. I wouldn't be fussed which country my bike comes from, as long as I can rely on it to do it's job. The Japanese manufacturers have a proven track record, the Chinese still don't.

Yes, but the manufacturer states Yamaha, not Yamahongdongsakidou. Yamaha will make sure the materials and quality control at least meets a reasonable standard, so they can put their badge on it. So far the native Chinese companies dont

I work for a bakery, Warburtons and after seeing what a huge manufacturing plant goes through for quality control in just bread, then I can only imagine what is needed for bikes. Loads of things go wrong with the machines, and 3 permanent engineers are needed minimum along with 5 during the day shifts.

Basically, made in China by a Japanese company is very much different from a Chinese owned company.

A Japanese company has structure and quality, in fact somemof their businesses have a unique structure which you learn in Business Studies.

A chinese business will employ the cheapest staff, probably have no tests to get them in, have poor training and not care for a poor quality product.

Jap's have pride in their products, while the Chinese just want to make money.

Hahaha, you're such a card. With your silly sounding made up ching-chong names!

The punchline is that the manufacturer of the YBR 125 is "Chongqing Jianshe Yamaha". I agree that it's funnier if you run it all together: ChongqingJiansheYamaha. Hilarious, who'd buy a bike from a joke outfit like that? Dance!

Some chinese bikes are pretty decent. Just depends how much you are willing to pay. Go stupidly cheap and you'll get a shitter. Pay a relative amount and im sure you will get something at least half decent.

Don't make me post up a super awesome pic of my chinese/honda hybrid monkeybike. Laughing

do you get free bread?

Unfortunately not!

Sad 50P a loaf, it costs about 30 P or so to make bread after all the costs.

Some of the Chinese bikes are just shockingly awful. But some are surprisingly OK. The Sanyas seem pretty well made and reliable. Flip side, Chitumas are the very work of the devil.

Strictly this isnt true.

Go out, and find a Chinese bike, which somebody has taken care of.
And compare it to a Honda which somebody has neglected.

The Chinese bike will be the better condition bike.

People dont care about bikes which are Chinese. But buy them for peanuts, and treat them like rubbish.
When somebody spends out on a nice Honda or whatever. They generally look after it.

Granted, a Honda clearly will be a better built bike than a Chinese bike.
But it's all relevant when it comes down to reliability etc.
All Chinese engines are carbon copies of Honda/Yamaha/Suzuki engines anyway.

The parts on a pit bike engine are 99% interchangeable with the parts on a Honda CRF50/70 engine.

Same with the bikes which replicate bikes such as the YBR etc.
Why would you be bothered about it being difficult to get a replacement Chinese part, when the Yamaha equivalent will bolt straight on.
And it will.

Yes and if the person treats a Jap bike as well as the Chinese, then that bike will last 30 years.

An abused Chinese bike is dead within a few years or a huge money pit, and a Jap bike can take more abuse.

Let's face it, Italian bikes have more care than most Jap bike, but the Jap bikes can take it to a certain extent.

I'd hazard the opposite. You're unlikely to get more than you pay for, but you can get less. The less bike you buy, the fewer things there are to go wrong, and you don't pay a 50% premium for a few extra bits of plastic. The basic commuters are OK, it's the CBR-a-likes and offroad-stylees that have the problems. From personal experience, my HN125-8 is more capable and better built than my 250 Virago clone.

Can you name any specific expensive Chinese bikes (Chinese branded and owned) that you're thinking of? Sinnis (Jinan Qingqi) maybe; they get good reviews new, but I don't know if they last better than any other Chinese brand.

There is a chap round my way who owns a Sanya, last time I bumped in to him it had over 20k miles on it. I think he'd been riding it over winter as well and it looked like it held up quite nicely, although he does really look after it.

Jialing get a Thumbs Up IMO.
Their horizontal 125cc engine is the same as the YX Motorsport 140 engine, just with a smaller piston.
Best engines on the Chinese market IMO.
