Is it just me, or does anyone else get a little bit happy when they get two yolks in one egg? I feel all special and warm. Well, yesterday, I was happily cracking two eggs for a butty and out popped two yolks! Cracked the second one, and I was so amazed, I took a picture of it:

Odds of that happening: 1/1,000,000

If the first egg contained two yolks then why did you bother cracking the second one?
You're just greedy aren't you Wink

Couple of hens at home often lay doubles! Have to develop a skill and pick their eggs out from the rest when cooking them Laughing

Don't take this away from me Ham! I think there are certain types of chicken that produce double yolks exclusively.

False, double yolkers are produced when a hen has just come into lay at about twenty two weeks and they are not fully developed so two yolks end up in one shell.
Some marks and spencer supermarkets stock eggs that are guaranteed to be double yolkers, bu all you need to so is go to your local supermarket and buy some free range very large eggs.

But the odds of having them together is what makes it rare. To have three in a row is 1/1,000,000,000!

Every one a double yoker.

Wow, I thought I was special! If every single person in the world cracked three eggs consecutively, only six* people would have three double yolks! You, sir, are indeed special* (*that is of course, assuming standard eggs are used).

if you buy eggs that are "XL" type sizes most will be double yolkers - it's not that random to find them.

Back in my yoof I used to work on a egg farm innit.
