just got a insurance renewal quote starting on 16th april
166.56 annual
219 if payed monthly

includes :-

legal cover
break down cover (always a must IMO with a 2 stroke)
european use (which i would love if funds allowed me to, i saw an epic thread in show and tell with a french trip on rxs 100's! would love to do similar)

which is a far cry from the £273 i payed last year, altho now have 1 yr ncb and 6 points are gone (huraay) will hopfully be doing das this year but have a baby due in may Very Happy so be sticking to the pocket rocket till finances are settled Sad )

through mce the same company who i went with last year.

i think this is quite good tbh. anybody else had nice quotes of recent? Mr. Green

what i dont undersatnd is the volunary excess is 250
compulsory 600!!! total 850
on a bike thats i stated worth 600
and it 3rd party fire thieft so the only time i would claim on my own insurance is if it got stolen and/or burnt and i would be paying more than the bike is worth? Confused

You volunteered the 250 excess, which is why your premium is pretty low!

You can't change the compulsory.

Not a good deal after all ay Laughing Embarassed

i did not quote 250 i quoted 50 but they want a compulsory voluntary 250 Confused which is a bit shit. but when i changed it to voluntary 350 they adden an extra 50 making it 400 and compulsory 600 making it 1000 i dont get insurance sometimes.

Not bad for a 1300.

As I understand it, "legal cover" is a big con. Then just pass you on to a no-win-no-fee lawyer, which you could do yourself for free.

I'm pretty sure under EU law all insurance policies have to cover you for travel within Europe.

This.

TheBikeInsurer were giving it out for free if you did a quote (and when I say giving it out, they just gave you a free phone number in case of an accident).

So why did you take TPFT? There's no point in claiming unless you'll net at least £500 or so, since you'll lose more than that in increased premiums over the next 5 years. Confused

£60.83 TPO for my 305 this year. Thumbs Up

I have separate "any vehicle" breakdown cover through Green Flag, and I agree that legal cover is a scam since (based on the terms I read) it does only cover claiming losses from 3rd parties that you could engage your own choice of ambulance chaser to do anyway.

Probably because generally, it's cheaper to insure for TPFT rather than TPO. No, it doesn't make sense. Insurance never does.

Not if you rear end a £50k car! The pay out will be far higher than the value of your car

Express Delegated were the underwriters offering me the good quotes and they're not showing up on comparisons anymore for me Sad Tried their own website, they said ring because they can't quote me. I'll have to inquire tomorrow as i'm looking to insure my new baby Laughing i'm in love.
