This is the second time now i've been stopped for wheelies. I know i should really not do them but i have a problem.

I stupidly did one today in town, after telling myself that i would stop after my first warning. The road was clear, straight and wide there seemed to be no one about either.

About 100 meters up the road there was 5+ police cars attending to what seemed some scrotes fighting. I knew there was no way they did not hear it so i slowed down and rode back to the garage minutes away. Thought i was in the clear untill some officers turned up at the door, apparently there was a marked unit behind me the whole way, i currently have no mirrors, so that's a lesson learnt.

I thought, here we go, points, fine etc. He seemed to be in a rush im assuming he was on his way to the scene i went pass. He took my reg and gave me a warning.

Just wondering what the possible implications are normally from the old one wheel riding and if its considered dangerous driving?

Has anyone else had similar problems?

Yes it can be considered dangerous driving as you are not in full control of the vehicle in the normal sense with the steering defunct.

Possible implications for pulling wheelies in town?

The worst I can think of is that you kill an unwitting pedestrian.

Indeed, when i say in town, i mean within the city. I would certainly not pull one off in a busy area. Or would I?

Bad 'obs' on your part, but then generally undercover cars are less likely to do you unless specially tasked with that aim, in my experience.

And yes, you could get done for dangerous driving. However, remember that's in front of a Jury, so I expect there'd go for due care and attention a lot of the time too save hassle.

Im normally pretty weary. When i actually have mirrors i tend to check allot. If i see a relatively new car and/or a car with two people in the front i normally think twice before doing anything. Just a shame that i did not pay attention this time. Time for mirrors to come back on i think.
