The director Kevin Smith (who has a regular twitter battle with Megan Phelps) has been taking his new film 'Red State' out on tour accompanied by a Q and A session and they decided to picket one of the venues. Smith gave them tickets to see the show which they subsequently walked out on, however a couple of ex Phelps clanners were in the audience and were asked up on stage to give their opinion and experience of Westboro which made interesting listening (it’s up on one of Smith’s recent podcasts).

It was a "4 years on" kinda thing, speaking to the ones that had left the cult/church and ones which had stayed and developed even further in to it.

I went to work early and my missus switched it off. Kinda viewing that makes you want to stick your foot through the TV. They are clever people, they know their rights, they know what to say and do to really push people's buttons. They make a song or a joke out of people's feelings, knowing it infuriates them.

I don't think it will be long before some of them come to serious harm.

I watched both this and the first one a few years back. It seems that these small-minded idiots will cast aside anyone who doesn't share their hateful and marginal views.

Rather than behaving like reasonable people who accept that we have the freedoms to do more or less what we want in life, they put on this holier-than-thou attitude and refuse to accept any other story.

Seeing the pain they cause members of their family who wake up from the brainwashing is quite disturbing.

They dare to call themselves Baptists as well, I have experience of the Baptist church through my family and it is nothing like those horrible people.

Honestly don't understand why people need to believe in a God to be "happy" in life. People should stop worrying about what happens when they die and enjoy life before your time runs out. These people are at the far end of the extremist Christian scale, along side the KKK. Although the KKK from what I remember is all about supporting troops so I dunno how that'd work out if they ever met on the street But anyway, listening to the little kids waffle a load of crap is pretty disturbing... Their lives are pretty much destroyed, it's more or less child abuse bring up a kid with such extreme and distorted views on the world around them.
