Right, As my PC50 gets hotter, it seems to lose power. Normally it does 32 on the flat, but then it slows down to about 27. If I leave the bike ten mins and go back on it she runs sweet, Any ideas what causes this?

Sounds like it could be overheating and this losing power...

just a thought though.

I agree with the overheating... But with it happening so soon? on a bike that was surely designed to be thrashed mercilessly? Something feels amiss =/

Is mixture too rich? Runs fine and performs well when cooler when mixture is better richer, but when it warms up, it ends up being too rich.

Possibility if you've not checked the carb yet.

Choke moves freely and is set to off, I've had the carb stripped and cleaned.

It does seem to be running a bit rich, But as far as I was aware, the mixture screw only affects idle mixture?
Am I wrong on this?

knackeredish coil ?

I was thinking that maybe the condenser or coil were weakening as they get hot... but from what I can see, I'm getting a crisp white spark.

Check the plug colour, would be worth changing it anyways, but it'll give you an idea as to how hot its getting, if the colour is chocolatey brown colour (ideal carb setting), then you might need to change the plug for one a number higher...but if its at the manufacture spec, then its another problem. As the tempreture isn't -1 any more it might just be the carb anyway, my Derbi Senda, I had to change the settings for it to idle. Worth checking the manual though, usually have a troubleshooting part. Thumbs Up

might aswell replace the condenser and points anyway

Do you know how much of a pain replacing the condenser is? It's INSIDE the frame above the engine.
I have a new set of points ready to go on.

It's a 1972 moped... manuals are VERY hard to come by. None on ebay at all! Also, The PC50 is four stroke unlike your derbi

As far as I know, when you're on the main jet/needle, then you're flowing 100% fuel through the pilot jets in addition to what you get from the main. They have less effect at higher revs as it gradually becomes a smaller percentage of the total fuel.

However, it can have an affect, on something that old, it will be worth giving it a clean anyway.

On H100's you have to take the flywheel off to change the condenser, that's why my new one is on the desk next to me - too much like effort to fit it Laughing

shouldn't the bike be running on some lead replacement additives in the fuel?

Its a 4 stroke isn't it, as far as i'm aware, can't be bothered to read the whole thread again!

Just a thought
