its a twin and at anything over 40 i found to be very vibey on the bars
punchy - its got torque but not that good off the lights.

They are good bikes, but i wouldnt want to be on one everyday.

Oh and they will be more to insure than an older bike.
And plastics cost a fortune to replace.

tut tut Cansa, didn't your teacher ever tell you not to use the word you're defining in the definition! Shame on you! Laughing

Vibey, i assume, means vibrates a lot

44miles to £10's worth of juice @ approx £1.31/l gives you 25mpg....
No 'tiddler' should be drinking that heavily... there are litre bikes that can better that!

And 250 2 strokes that will do much worse! Also you have to add in the cost of the 2 stroke oil which ain't cheap if you want to run it on nice stuff.

Not the Abusive Rating! So many bad and awful memories and suffering at the hands of the Abusive rating

*rocks back and forth wide eyed*

What he said. My old NSR was doing way better than that dragging my fat behind round and I never spared the horses. Are you leaving a big rainbow pattern on the tarmac, everywhere you go?

As Mike said. My 2.0 Turbo gets better than that as does my SV650S.

Sounds like you're hammering it everywhere matey! Laughing!

I had one for 2 years, never found any vibration over 40, actually found it a really nice bike to ride. But cannot remember how good they were on fuel, as it was about 6 years ago since I rode it.

Vara's get a big Thumbs Up from me! Wink

I use my Varadero every day for work, 22 miles round trip and for getting around on the week end, takes about £18 to fill, I tend to fill when I hit 200 miles as I dont like letting it get to low and going on reserve, so if you use reserve add another 30 odd miles. No vibration on mine, very comfy handles nicely and will sit at 70mph so would be good for what you want, its no slouch but not as fast away from the lights as some 125's due to its weight, still quick enough away from cars, good riding position and all round view. Often mistaken for a bigger bike due to its size, have a sit on one and see what you think, stick a set of BT45 battleaxe tyres on and they stick like S*** to a blanket wet and dry.

Great bike for me, I know a few peeps on here rated them highly to. Thumbs Up

Swat I wondered.... I can actually get that MPG out of...... my 4.0L V effing 8 RANGE ROVER, with a little restraint!

I wondered whether perhaps he was trying to save on the £15 Road Tax and riding accross the fields! Low gear, churning mud!

I run a 100 mile round trip on the NSR 2-3 times a week.
Usually about £8-£10 in fuel if i'm not playing the fuel saving game.
Sometimes less than £7 if i keep out of the powerband (and cruise at 58mph haha).

But yes. for 44 miles round it cant be that bad :p

My fuel light on my varadero comes on roughly around 220-230 depending on my riding, so it's pretty good on fuel.

A5tra_G is right about the fact that it's not quick off the lights, but it's great at riding around town and not too bad at the odd nice trip out into the country.

Plus its a 2 stroke so adding a 10er on top of that for a bottle of oil every now and then would make it worse than my old scooby and you could actually see the needle go down as you accelerated!

I loved my Varadero, I would highly recommend one. I had mine for nearly a year and got back what I paid for it as well.

I'm looking at the Honda XL 125 Varadero, or something similar... ??

Does anybody have any info on them?

Thanks

Thumbs Up

What is going on there? My vectra does a good bit better and not only is it a car, but has an ageing 1800cc engine and my heavy foot.
