first thing, can the frame of my FZR400 be powdercoated?
its the hollow deltabox frame..?

if it can, is it easy to strip the bike down to get it done or will i end up breaking bits doing it?

any advice/help appreciated!

You'll probably have to drill a few bolts out, you'll discover all the bodges from the bikes past, and unless you're very organised you'll manage to lose a few bits.

Olny worth doing imo if you are going the whole hog to restore the bike, otherise take as much off as possible, mask and get it sprayed (properly not with rattle cans).

First off, why? Has the lacquer come off of the frame? Is it chipped, dented or polished?

It is a MASSIVE undertaking to strip a bike down to the bare frame. Yes, any frame can be given a coat of powder, but you'll need to carefully clean and degrease it, mask off any threaded areas so that you don't end up with blocked or ruined screwthreads and get it to the powdercoaters. Then you have to completely rebuild the bike again.

I like working on bikes, but as said above I'd only undertake a complete stripdown if I was doing a nut and bolt restoration of the bike.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

i think i will leave it as is.
it just looks boring at the moment.
i am respraying all the fairings and fitting an r6 rear end on it, just though to would spruce it up abit more.

will be putting an fzr600 engine in it at then end of the year, will get it done then while its in bits!

Thanks
