I had a the AGV GP-Tech (white) last month and after wearing it only 5 times its already falling to bits Shocked .

Firstly the visor clips were sticking meaning I had to unscrew and remove the whole unit on each side of the helmet to flick the lever back. I took the lid back to the dealer to which they replaced the unit with new. Still having the same problem but kinda decided to put up with it.

Came home last night after a quick hours blast to find the black trim at the base of the helmet which seems to be glued on is coming away.

Now I've decided to take it back again today but I'm conscience about me seeming to be too picky. The lid did cost me £370 so personally I'd of expected a higher quality of finish.

Agree??

Yes.

I have done around 15,000 miles with my 'new' shoei an its still perfect other than a little wear on the cheek pads where its been on and off so many times.

Get a different one.

I have one, it's shite build quality.

The neck roll peeling is a very common fault, had mine replaced by Hein Gericke but the new one did the same thing. On mine the air vent on the front at the right jammed half way up and the pads went soft as hell after a few rides so the lid rattled around on my head despite fitting well in the shop. Got new pads but didn't get round to fitting them.

Also, I find you have to make a compromise between seeing anything when leant forward (it's like a baseball cap visor in the way) and your chin poking out the bottom.

Decided I hated it in the end and bought an HJC, the AGV makes a nice desk ornament though.

I got an AGV S4-SV and its OK. When I first got it there was a bit of a problem with a whistle at speed, but I took it back and Hein Gericke replaced it with no quibbling.

Since then its been great. Solid, not quite as well built as my previous Arai, but a good lid. Nice looking, and has a useful internal sun visor. I'm pretty pleased with it TBH.

5 star SHARP rated though. Mind you, so is a £60 Marushin.

Without wishing to troll, can I ask what persuaded you to part with so much money for a helmet? I'm genuinely interested.

I have a GP Tech, its the Rossi rep colours although I doubt that makes a difference except in price, the helmet is solid and is not showing any signs of wear after about 12k miles.

A Kia C'eed and a BMW 5 series both got 5 Stars in the Euro NCAP tests, doesn't mean they are comparable.

I looked at the AGVs when I was buying mine, but the build quality did seem to be lower than the Arais and Shoeis. Can you take it back?

Just got back from the shop. They've told me there's nothing to worry about as the trim is sweated onto the lid. I may have been a little picky as its not exactly hanging off the lid its just not as tight as when I first purchased it. They have offered to have it sent off for inspection free of charge so I'm gonna go with that.

Quite happy tbh now as they've told me that although I have a 12 month warranty they are quite happy to amend any faults that should occur after that has expired.

Why did I spend so much?? No reason really, just liked it at the time and couldn't see anything else, plus its a hobby I love it I have a passion for it and I have no regrets spending big on it.

Good customer service from the shop. I have a 1st generation GP Tech. Done about 25000 miles in it and apart from the neck roll peeling which was replaced under warranty its been fine.

Thats good to hear, thanks (good karma). I have, after more bloody inspection, just found a slight chip in one of the rear air vents. Now I'm in a dilemma Confused Do I mention this on Monday when it goes back as I know 100% it wasn't me or do I just live with it.

I don't want the tag of been a pain in the ass as I regularly shop there Very Happy
