Hi guys I am looking for a player for my pc that will ignore/let me skip all of the tedious piracy warnings and trailers that you can't skip on a regular DVD player, any help on this matter would be much appreciated.

Please don't suggest downloading as the quality is not high enough for my screen size when it comes to the 700mb files, I just want to play my actual DVDs in peace Thumbs Up .

many thanks for any useful reply!

Lewis.

Are we talking news servers or just regular torrents here?

This is all well and good for films I don't own, but for instance I have a good few multi episode series on DVD, and it fucking infuriates me having to see some cretinous "You wouldn't steal a car" crap EVERY time I want to see an episode.

Also, not everything I want to watch has actually had a Blu Ray release.

Cheers for the reply!

Use VLC,

It is better than anything else out there, skips straight to the opening menu when you play a DVD.

Regular torrent sites. Although they (brrips) can be 4bg per film.

Although if what Chris said is right then happy days. Smile

Aye. This is something that annoys the shit out of me. Even the ones with excessively convoluted intro screens to the title menu. I want to put the thing in and the first thing I see is the option to play the damned movie.

I also don't need telling it's been made by 20th Century Fox three times, nor do I give a flying fuck that the sound engineering was done by dolby.

I know all this crap, it says it on the box. If they really want to have it somewhere, it should be at the end with all the other credits.

I had one the other day that played a fucking begging letter from some charity or other before the film, endorsed by some of the actors in a totally sickening, soft-focus, typically insincere sounding American manner. It was made so you couldn't skip or fast forward it too. I felt like putting my foot through the TV and sending the bill to the film company.

The 'you wouldnt steal' one pisses me off because for a start if I downloaded or ripped it I would have re-authored that bit out. Besides I cant download a porsche so sod off.

Another annoyance is showing some kind of highlight reel of a film I havent fucking seen yet before the high and mighty option of 'play movie' crops up!

And they wonder why....

I agree, it makes me more inclined to download a film, press play film plays, on a DVD you get told how you are a criminal because have downloaded stuff then you get adverts then you get told you are a criminal again, then you get asked to rat on your criminal mates. Then you are told you fund terrorism by downloading films then another advert then you might get to watch the film.

The absolute worse for the Lost Blu-Ray collection, I just started the second series popped the first disk in and I get a fucking advert for Lost Season Four "See what Happens to Jack, Kate and Sawyer as they Find out...." YOU JUST GAVE AWAY HALF THE 2ND/3RD SERIES YOU CUNTS!

It was in the Lost Collection which already contained the fucking fourth Season.

Useless Cunts.

I have now decided every time I have to watch that FACT advert where they give you a number to call I will call it and waste their time, imagine if everybody did it, the call centre would implode within hours.

If the DVD gives you the choice of loads of countries, pick a random one and it skips all the asverts. Not sure if it does the piracy ones though.

I have actually ripped a couple of my most loved series' using DVD Shrink and burned them back full quality just to remove this toilet from my life, having to see it once is a liberty, continously IMO actually encourages piracy, as it is ironicaly free from the scourge of piracy warnings.

Punishing the genuine customer with propaganda and advertisements when the freeloader is free to enjoy the production without any annoyance or interruption, is nonsensical. When you are ripping a DVD to for instance to commit piracy, you do not see the warnings because you are not there to watch any of it!

This whole moronic carry on is very annoying for everyone, but to compress the main feature a bit more to allow for it all? That is the bit that irritates me the most, raise the feature bitrate, do SOMETHING else with the disc space, and give customers more reason to actually pay for a product, they get much better quality from a DVD than they do from your average 700MB encode, and most people cannot be bothered to do 4GB+ downloads for BR.
