I hate Tescos, avoid the place like the plague, vile food and vile company. However today I found myself in one, and thought seeing as summer is coming some of the tight bums on this forum could use this.

Packed its about 20 inches long about 3 inches wide. It probaly doesnt have the water proofing to help against a dripping tap, but hey, its summer and its £8.97.

I paid £15 for a 2 man dome tent in Argos (read: 1 man generous dome tent).

So far so good, it's not seen any rain and it's only ever been put up in my bedroom to practice putting it up. Time will tell, I guess!

I have one of these, we bought it 8 years or so ago for the kids to 'camp' in the garden one summer as a play tent, was only used in sunny weather and never actually used at night lol.
When we wanted to get the youngest used to camping last year, I took it to my mums and set it up in her garden and the nipper and I camped in it for the night.
It pissed it down with rain but we were both dry, so while cheap it was good(ish). May not be exactly the same tent but looks it from the pics you posted...cost us £15 though Smile
Only really good as a 1 man tent though, with me and 4 yr old son (well 5 now but 4 at the time!) it was very cramped..would hate to try 2 adults in it..would have to be VERY friendly with your tentmate Smile

Actually, I shall be taking mine to Salisbury in June, for a relatives 60th and sleeping in the tent in my cousin's garden (she has a full house with all us reletives coming down.

I for one will never sleep in a single-skin tent ever again.

Once bitten, twice shy.

Even decent tents are cheap these days. No need to skimp

With new tents are you not meant to put them up, give them a soaking and then let them dry out before packing away ready to be used properly?

I got a new tent i'll be assembling in the garden tomorrow probably and giving a dousing ready for a few days busmans holiday in euro somewhere

You cannot possibly form even the bare skeleton of any kind of review, you haven't used it.

I bought the slightly more expensive £13 tesco tent, double skinned one a few years ago. It isn't bad but it's not amazing, you get condensation in it which is the main problem, it's sturdy and waterproof though (tested on 2 weeks in Europe including camping in Andermatt). I ended up replacing it with a more expensive Coleman because I wanted something slightly more compact, lighter and breathable, personally wouldn't buy a cheapo tent again, you only save a few quid over a good one.

The one in the photos here is useful for nothing more than kids playing in it.

Yea, I got wet from the condensation in my cheap two-skin tesco tent - maybe a single skin even cheaper one might actually be better in this case!
