As per

https://www.theaa.com/breakdownrepaircover/

Anyone got it?

My clio is going a bit funny, I'm thinking of getting this cover to have it sorted. I know I'd have to call out the roadside assistance for it to work.

Cheers

I use autoaid.

https://www.autoaidbreakdown.co.uk/

It is like breakdown insurance, if you break down/crash you call them up they send out random local company, you pay the company then claim it back from autoaid.

When I crashed in the ice in November (2 days after the start of my autoaid cover I might add) they called someone out to bring me home, really good service, costs £38 a year for you and your legal spouse in any car/bike Thumbs Up .

Highly recommended.

EDIT:

NM Just read the link, you want the repair cover.

Not sure it is economically viable for them to insure french cars against repairs Very Happy .

Fine print says you need t keep the car serviced at a garage, and I am sure there are 1000's of get out clauses in the policy. Tread carefully Thumbs Up .

I've done it.

Rung the lad up to get a quote, he's everything for £130. Recovery home, repair stuff, that's for me in anything too.

I recorded the phonecall and everything he said in the terms and conditions I can adhere to, so should be ok. Googling it, seems like they do pay out.

I just hope the French piece of crap lasts 14 days before I send it to renault for £400 worth of repairs Laughing

Used to have it, well it was an Alfa lol.

Took it out, went to work for a couple of weeks, returned to find car would not select gear (selespeed gearbox), what a shock Shifty Shifty

Well AA took it to the closest Alfa Dealer, they asked for £800 for a new clutch, negotiated down to £500 and made it clear to Alfa it WAS NOT the friction plates. AA paid the bill no problems.

2 months later gearbox needed reprogrammed, AA paid again and I thought I better get shot of the Alfa sharpish.
