well, i've finally stopped talking about it and yesterday i went and bought this : https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150588068166&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123#vi-desc

so far ive only taken it for a short test ride and ridden it home on the motorway and about 3 miles to my house but im really happy with it.

i will take some photos of my own and put them up when i get chance.

i want a rear hugger and a different chain guard and it will be pretty much spot on for me.

the exhaust sounds amazing and if you have never ridden a bike with one of them quick shifters you really should

cheers lads,

yeah i plan on keeping it shiny. im a gas fitter so i have a van for work hence no commute, and i have an enduro bike to get muddy on. this is a sunny shiny toy, wich i know i'll now get slated for saying.

i plan on going on a beginner track day to donnington, i went on the ron haslam track day thing but im fancying an open pitlane day if i can get on one. should improve my confidence hanging off the bike.

Nice, best model the K7, lighter and more power. I got one, you wont be dissapointed,
Get it on a good road and take it to the red in at least the first 4 gears Very Happy.

Sounds like it has some good extras on it, was there a dyno sheet for the Akra and power commander set up? What rubber has it got on?

i havent really had chance to give it any yet. ive had a short blast today but the roads close to me are all crap. hopefully i will be able to get a decent blast tomorrow.

it has pirelli diablo super corsa's on but i think they will need replacing soon. i may do a track day before i change them. im thinking racetec's but unsure.

old git- no, i thought it was in with all the paperwork but it isnt so ive just emailed the bloke to see if he has one, if not i might pay for one myself. any idea how much they are?

im just reading 'x' luke i think hes called? https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=198349&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=200

and i can say mine has the power commander and ignition module for the dynojet quick shifter and its great. i also think the suspension set up by previous owner.
my mate has a brand new blade and he reckons mine handles better than his.

chris-red- i agree, i would never spend whats been spent on this bike thats why i bought one with it already on. ive seen a few bits i like to make it my own, but nothing major.

Is the bike starting up fine? might be a wire needing ramming in perhaps.

oh purty bike btw.

yeah it starts up and runs spot on. i rode it 70 miles home.

the bloke said it was because the exhaust doesnt have a sensor plugged in or something. he said its an easy fix but he doesnt know how to do it.

as for a honda, me no likey. had the chance to get my mates cbr 600 2008 and also a 2006 blade but i wasnt fussed about either. my mates recently got a k6 600 and after having a go i decided i wanted one but when i saw this i thought id spend the extra cash for a lot more bike.

i was looking at a rsv factory the other week and even made a thread on here but wasnt too sure it was right for me. and i must say im happy with my choice now

How tall are you and how well would you say you fit it? And what build?

Also, does that quick shifter eliminate the need for the clutch for up and down shifting? Obviously down shifting with clutch is better but I am surprised by the amount of people who don't blip downshift...?

I always liked the shorty cans but I think that larger exhaust really compliments the bike. A 750 would honestly be my dream bike!

Take the bulb out of the dash or cover it with black tape. Covering it with black tape will give you at least 20hp extra, especially if it's half peeled off. It's the oxygen sensor warning light as it's been pulled from the exhaust.

im 6'3 large build and id say it feels better than a 2008 cbr600 however i came from a 2000 zx6r so it still feels tiny.

the quickshifter is good but i rode home 70 miles and didnt use it once because id forgotten about it. sure i will get used to it, but at £160 + the ignition module for the power commander? i wouldnt buy one if it wasnt already on the bike when i bought it. you still need clutch to shift down, just not up.

and to lilredmachine ; i know its the sensor, what i meant is ive been told you can do something to stop it reading as a fault but i cant find out what it is.

i would cover it with black tape but i dont think i could manage another 20bhp right now. what about blue tape? whats that give me?

We never tried blue tape on pete's race R1, it was cranking out 200 at the motor on the dyno anyway, but using black tape it was 220 at the wheel. Red type only gave 18hp, and purple 5hp. Presumably purple gave such a limp wristed performance because it's the colour of choice for pouffs and fairies. Freed up the airflow through the exhaust for some reason though.

Anyway:

Quote:
OK JB, the long version - The PCIII goes between the ECU and the injectors. It alters the pluses via a table or map that you load. Under a narrow set of conditions, the ECU looks at the O2 sensors and tells the bike to go into a very lean condition. Since the PCIII table or map does not account for this you get FI errors. If you never allow the bike to meet the conditions that precipitate the ECU looking at the O2 sensors you would not get an FI error. Hence the statement form some people that you don't need the eliminators.

eliminators:

https://www.dynojet.co.uk/powercommander/accessories.htm

Bottom right.

A response I formulated on another forum. Probably incorrect but thought I'd have a stab at understanding it:

Quote:
Well, they are useful if you have a power commander as a lot of bikes can throw a warning light on the dash without an eliminator. It's a condition created by causing a conflict between the ECU and the powercommander as is my (lack of) understanding. At certain RPM ranges and constant throttle the bike will lean itself right out (presumably to protect the planet) but I believe the power commander compensates for this as it's maps won't have this factored in because it means that your response and torque is often affected by artificial flatspots. Bike senses this through the o2 sensor and throws a light related wobbler as it reckons something in the fuel system is mullered.

Probably wrong but eh.

there we go £20. i cant see where it fits though, any help on this? is it down near the exhaust? onto the power commander? no idea.

also does this mean that my power commander isnt working correctly at the min? because i may get it on a r/r or set up seen as i dont have any paperwork to say it has been done

Hmm, any pics of you on it as I seem about the same build?

Also, with the downshifting. It's not wrong. I just think it sounds awful and feels horrible. It also increases the risk of locking up the rear, slightly increases engine wear and when carrying pillions it is a lot rougher (headbanging) than blipping on downshifts.
