Anyone else like me, who can't bear to part exchange your bike for a new one. When they've been reliable and have a lot of memories associated with them. To me it's like loosing an old friend, and I can't do it. Then before you know it suddenly you end up with several bikes.
Now my addiction is starting again I'm lusting after yet another bike, the Kawaski W800. It justs looks so lovely and shiney and retro.

I think I need help. Am I a lost cause ? ____________________ Regular Rides:- BMW R1200R, Triumph Street Triple

I have 2 bikes now because I couldn't bear to get rid of my fazer, but now I am quite attached to my Deauville aand I can see me ending up with a 3rd bike when the mileage on this is getting a little high - like over 100k.

As much as I like the W800, I wish they'd kept the W650 coming into the country, it ticked nearly all of my boxes. ____________________ Chances are quite high you are not in my Monkeysphere, and I don't care about you. Don't take it personally.

I'm not generally a retro bike fan for the most part, but I must admit those W800s look absolutely stunning, they feel so much more authentic than the new Bonnies
Lovely bike, I look forward to some photos of it ____________________ 2010 Triumph 1050 Sprint ST |

My previous bike was W650 and I test rode W800 once.
W800 is fuel injection, and the torque peak had shifted from middle(3500-4500) to more bottom low end(2000? maybe). Yes I could rev till 5000 or 6000 smoothly, but the setting was too bottom end low rich in my opinion....... So I felt it easier to start/ cruise at top gear and still go up the hill with no problem, but it was less exciting compared to W650. And I felt the bottom rich setting so strange as a W650 pre owner.
(Engine size is W650 is 675cc, W800 is 773cc. So the plus is about 100cc not 150cc.)
Exhaust note is very quiet with genuine pipe.
Weak point is Front brake stopping power same as W650. Some members were telling me they were a little bit terrible.(brand-new W650 and W800 front brake pad hardly bytes!)
Difference of gear ratio is.. 1st gear was lowered than W650. Other gears are same. I reckon this is for smaller driven. I thought 1 or 2 teeth smaller driven gear better for W800.
Regarding running and cornering and stopping, Bonneville is far superior to W650/800 in every aspects.
Kawasaki quality of plating is not good so "black edition" maybe easier to keep it clean. ____________________ own:2020 Serow 250

Apart from my ZX6R I have a CG 125 of lovelyness.
The CG is way to small for me and way to under-powered, but I just cant bring myself to sell it .
Now the XS 400 is hate and if I got a good price I might think about letting that go.
The funny thing about the XS 400 is that although it`s a bad`un, I want to hang on to it till I get it going right just so I can ride it at it`s best, even though I hate it??? ____________________ I am the sum total of my own existence, what went before makes me who I am now! |

I don't want to sell either of my bikes But eventually I will have to sell one so I can upgrade. It will be a tough decision as they're both good at what they do. ____________________ Suzuki GSF600 K3 (in the fastest colour, black). |

Doubt I could sell my first and current bandit gs650 k8, going to have too many memories with that one...only, the other day I started 'rationalising' getting another bike...'Hmm..perhaps get a 1000cc naked, for a change through the week....and...I haven't got a faired bike, perhaps I should get one for er rainy days...'
Scary.. only things stopping me at the moment is fathers garage = full of utter crap, job looking wobbly and the knowledge Im still a noob, jumping on a yet higher horsepower bike will probably moider me...
Not alone I guess ____________________ Mod2 Passed 30/03/2011!

The pain of letting something go.
I'm having this at the mo with my car. Its time to get a different one more suited to the school run, but i like it (older 5 series are sooooo nice to waft around in). I keep doing the 'man maths' to prove to myself i can keep it and get a diesel child mover and shopping carrier which can cope with >5mm of snow.
If its the same with the bike (which i like alot) then I'm doomed. |

im liking the look of the 800, i liked the 650 but not a huge fan of push rod bikes,
whats the story with the tubes?? is it a bevel drive, or just random pointlessness on behalf of quacker to make it look like an old skool push rod lump??
i don't think i could get by with just 1 bike, 2 would be pushing it,
4 or more is about right (currently have 8, but could always do with more) ____________________ the humans are dead
