My routine is normally:

> spray wheels/swingarm with Muc-off just to help get some of the shit off.
> wash with shampoo (atm have turtlewax with extra wax!..Asda Special Cool )
> spray with hose (have a jetwasher, but most of the time cba to use it when the hose is already there and ready to go)
> rub down with chamois
> run engine to get out any water from the exhausts

Sorted.

Never owned anything with enough bodywork to worry about waxing/polishing..

on the cars ....Super snow foam dispensed from a decent foamer..
have a brew and a fag whist it does its thing, then get to it with the lance
Not quite a touchless wash as I usually have to use the noodle mitt and some wash n wax stuff, followed by a rinse and a silicone dryer blade and a toweling...occasionally followed up by a carnuba wax polish
I have definately stopped putting fresh swirls on the cars since doing this and they always end up looking like the have actually been cleaned...at least for a few hours
(never buying another black car again)

Am contemplating buying some half decent truckwash for the DR250 to see if it works at getting the ingrained cack and oil fling off - have heard it can discoulour if left on too long though

GPZ500 - hand washed only- yes its got swirls in the laquer already after only a couple of washes since the repaint Sad

I wish it didn't bother me

Regards
Rob

I've been told to avoid putting pressure washers too close to bearings and seals as the water can blow past them.

It works well on my tires if I've been riding on greasy/oily/dieseled roads. Gives me my confidence back after a good pressure clean.

Never argue with an idiot. They'll only bring you down to their level, and beat you with experience.

I made this mistake on my old bike where the bearings were only behind a rubber cap.

Washed it before I put it away before selling and got it out 2 months later. Took it to the MOT and he told me the front bearings were gone.

My guess was a little bit of water had got into them and whilst it sat had rusted the bearings causing the rough running.

Lesson learnt! Fazer ones are no so exposed though so I think I could get away with it.
