Can these be charged whilst being attached to the bike's battery?
I was thinking of using something like this to do the charging duties; https://www.buybits.com/product/8667.aspx

What are they like to use when not attached to the bike? Do you really need the LCD screen attachment or can you get away without it?

Is the top end current model much better than a second hand purchase of an older model?
