hi guys

im on the verge of being offered a new job in a great role.

but its 50 miles away from home.the commute will be 99% on motorways gatwick to maidstone.

i done the journey on my 250 scooter sat at 70 all the way, fine.but i cant imagine this does it any good.will it go bang after a week?

so i will sell my triumph tt600 around 1500 quid plus another 4 or 5 hundred on top.

im after a bulletproof commuter that economical and comfy enough to ride(after 15hrs in a kitchen).

any ideas as this is not a topic i have ever looked into.

all ideas welcome not fussed at all on the style of bike.

100 miles a day equates to approx 2200 miles a month, or 24k a year what with holidays and whatnot.

After long days in a kitchen you won't want to fudge about with oiling and adjusting chains too often and you certainly want to reduce your time in petrol stations..

Also you'll be going through tyres every few months so your choice should have sensible sized rubber to save pennies.

£2K budget you say... Thinking

XJ900 Divvy?

How 'bout a 650 deauville?

Not the most exciting thing in the world, but extremely reliable and also a shafty, so low maintenence.

Should get a decent one on-budget...
