I wanna add a tooth to the rear and drop 1 from the front on my r6, Can someone tell me how much this will affect my speedo reading?

Or is it nothing to worry about?
Regards

James

It depends does your R6 read from the speedo or from the front wheel or the gearbox, if it is from the gearbox it will definitely affect it.

Hi,

It will affect it, depends on the original gearing as to how much it will affect it. A speedo healer from these guys would fix it. https://www.healtech-electronics.com/

Hi

Stock is 16:48, so going to 15:49 it is going to be about 8.5% out.

All the best

Keith

Hi

Dug the gearing out and worked it out. (16*49)/(15*48).

All the best

Keith

How did you work out the percentage?

Would this gearing make the bike easier to wheelie in second? As it is i can barely get the wheel of the floor without ramping the hell outta it?

Hi

Equation gives the ratio. About 1.085, which is 8.5%.

As to wheelies, probably more down to practice.

All the best

Keith
