Took out a policy yesterday with swinton, today Carol Nash came back to me with better cover for £200 less.

Can I cancel the swinton cover without having to pay stupid amount in charges?

usually get 14days cooling off, so you would only pay for the days you have been covered for.

Yep i done it recently you only pay for the days you've used. You will need to send documents back and a note in writing.

Swinton courier motorcycle insurance want £18.50 cancellation fee for the policy i arranged yesterday, PLUS they're keeping the non refundable deposit i paid yesterday of £63 still leaves me £90 better off though and means we know who to avoid, Can't believe swinton motorbike insurance stich you up for £81 for arranging insurance 22 hours ago and that they've not even had to send documents out for it.

Try a complaint to the financial ombudsman- unreasonable charges, n' all that.

There's no point to a 14 day cooling off period if it comes with strings attached.

You are not cancelling your policy. You are just returning an item without opening its box.
You bought something, didn't use it, returned it. Simple as that. You don't have to pay their 2 hours of staff salary. sorry, "administration fee".
