 |
|
I do a bit of work in Kyle of Lochalsh (for those of you who can't be arsed to google it, it's right at the Skye bridge) and commute from Inverness. Weather was amazing on Monday (which for the west coast of Scotland is in it's self a miracle!) so I took my bike. Grabbed the GoPro before I left and decided to film a bit of the ride as it's absolutely stunning! The section I filmed is the A890 from Auchtertyre to Lochcarron, is a wee bit boring at first but gets a bit twister about 3-4mins in. Recon it's prob one of, if not the, best commute in the UK - I welcome any challenges though, so what you got?
Click for the video and whap it up to 1080
Cheers, Stu |

Lovely bit of road. I went from Kyle up to Applecross a few years ago and discovered that I had no cash once I arrived. Nearest cash point was back in Kyle so I pitched my tent and dumped all the gear and headed back. It’s about an 80 mile round trip, but a pleasure to ride, especially with no luggage.
Although G has a point. In terms of commuting some of my most rewarding rides have come as a result of carving through gridlocked traffic. ____________________ 2016 CBF1000F - Commuter heaven | 1994 CBR600FR - Awaiting defibrillation |

Hell yes. That road is why I used to go from Portree to Inverness and back just to buy a CD or in one case, an ice cream. |

I could live with that commute Mine is a nightmare of such proportions that only the mighty RXS is up to the job of squeezing through the log jam. ____________________ The RXS100: vehicle of choice for Chuck Norris |

Hey, where's my post gone? I'm sure I hit submit....
To cut a longer post short, I leave work in Brynamman and if it's a nice day I head north over Mountain Road

It's the wiggly one Not, technically, the shortest route home (by about 20 miles ) but definately the best! ____________________ Honda Varadero 125cc => Suzuki Bandit 650 33bhp => 77bhp =>

That does look good on streetview too - similar to some of the more open roads up here. I mean to get down to Wales at some point this year - maybe after Glastonbury, will have to see... |
